That is all. I really can't describe how emotion provoking this film is.

Go see it now. I can't tell you anymore without ruining it. I will say though, throw any preconceptions that you may have about this film out of the window immediately. Definitely one of the best I've seen this year.

Very good in retrospect. I was unsure at the time, but yes, the emotional strength of it was very impressive.

** SPOILERS ** - In a purely, "Explaining what the situation is in the trailor" kind of way. Nothing about what's unique in the film ** SPOILERS **

Essentially you have Nicolas Cage and his partner making a very healthy living conning people out of their money - quite big time deals sometimes too.

Cage also suffers from a mental disorder that he takes medication for. This comes to a head an he is sent to see a psychiatrist. Psychiatrist puts him in touch with his daughter that he never met (broke up with his wife).

The film then follows "what happens next".

Ah, I saw a clip where he was in some sort of spastic mode and it was just strange...now I know why, ta. ;)

Nicholas Cage has the annoying habit of being superb in a film then making a bunch of steaming pile of llama shit films for a few years then being amazing again. He should be more selective in his choice of roles I think. Instead of going for cash, stick to more obscure but classier acting roles, a bit like Johnny Depp.

He was fantastic in Leaving Las Vegas and it'd be good to see him back to his best if he shines in this.

Yes, I think its fair to say that Matchstick Men is Cage's new Leaving Las Vegas.

Also great to see Sam Rockwell in a slightly more major role. Its about time he starred in a decent film. A high quality actor.

I thought "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" was quality.

I think he was excellent in 8mm, bad film until the last 30mins but Cage was fantastic in it.

I rented this years ago when it came out. Really enjoyed it at the time. Haven't seen it since.
