I know there was an old thread on this, but its ancient, and it would just confuse the hell out of people if I bumped it.

I got this game a couple of weeks ago. Just like Jade Empires a few years ago, it took a few sessions to get into, but once I did, omgz its great. I'm playing an infiltrator, really enjoying it, though sometimes the encounter killing me before I've got my pistol out is quite infuriating. I'm learning to save more often. ;)

It's a great game, although I found the replay value poor. Do not bother with the DLC, it's crap.

You just reminded me that I got Jade Empire on xbl and have not finished it yet (along with every other game I have bought in the last 3 months).

Dammit, my character is all set up for multiple replays. I guess I can ramp up the difficulty and see, though I'm a long way off my first run-through anyway.

Mass Effect 2 is supposed to be coming out at the end of this year I think and you are supposed to be able carry across your saves so anything you did in the first game will have reprecussions in the second one. On my second playthrough with the same char from my first game, the only problem is I am a warrior so I don't get any Biotic powers and have to rely on my team mates for those but give me a pistol and I can give anything in a few shots. I did enjoy the game but as with all Sandbox type games theres not enough different things to do outside of the main quest. Always the same sorta quests, not that I dont mind this but the loading time between Star systems could be a lot shorter.

I found the most annoying load times to be the various elevators. So annoying.

mass effect is what would of been KOTOR 3 if they still had the sw ip :)

its meant to be a 3 parter so heres hoping

as for replayable..meh ive finished it 5 times and unlocked everything, plus the DLC.

jade empires however i thought was a pile of wank, so it takes all sorts :)

Got this the other week aswell, after just over a week I'd knocked up about 40 hours play time. Doing it through again going Renegade atm, still not bored of it :D

Isn't Biowares new RPG out shortly aswell, Dragon Age I think it's called?

Quote from somewhere...

We were kind of hoping that EA and BioWare's Mass Effect 2 would slip out of the woodwork sometime in 2009, but John Riccitiello stated in the Q3 2009 conference call yesterday, that it would see light of day in Q4 fiscal 2009; Jan-March 2010.

I personally enjoyed playing thru it again, i think it was 2.5 play thrus to get level 60, then a fresh game on insane or whatever the hardest level was. The dlc was redic short, about 30mins with exploring, one for the points whores i guess (that's why i got it :D ), still it was better value that fable 2's dlc

I did find that a little odd, at least they could have given you a space station in Earths Orbit to land in.

Started a second play through myself with the DLC newly purchased to play through at some point.

Playing through on Hardcore, and it's not that hard tbh :/

I finished the game last night, and started again on hardcore. Its a lot more satisfying, though the high level armour looks a bit Tron for my tastes.

Bamp for a game I've just bought on the peee seee.

Seems a lot of fun so far, except as Ch3t mentions the sodding snoozeworthy elevators.

Have recently gone to my first planet away from the citadel, had some hard fights and picked up the final team member. Is this scripted to happen or did I just randomly choose a lucky planet? Can't remember what class I'm playing but it starts with a V. I am slaughtering everything happily with my shotgun at level 11.

I thought the grainy gfx thing was a bit annoying but turned it off and decided that actually I did like it :p.

the team members you can get in any order , the blue chick, the red angry toad bloke and whatnot, you also dont need to actually get them
