Mariashas Sharkskin Gloves Question

Went to the spawn spot of the gloves just now and it was up hurrahh!!!!!!!

Tried to do it with my Scout twice and got Pwned by the sharks so my wife brought her pally.

In the end we grouped up and she grabbed the chest and sprinted away, hitting FH when needed.

Now the problem is, although we were grouped, I did not get credit for the encounter.

Do you need to be the one grabbing the chest? or is there a lvl requirement seeing as my scout isnt 50??

Any help would be great.


*EDIT: According to Allakhazam, this quest is bugged sometimes that it doesnt grant credit to grup members. As of 1.69 it does - BLEH!*

yeh, i stealthed in solo but as soon as i grab the chest, all hell breaks loose. They all swim straight for me. But ah well. Hopefully when 1.69 gets here ill have credit......... if not.

They changed it so you unstealth when grabbing the gloves in 1.68

Aye, the snare that proc also has a damage component which unstealths you. This is since patch 1.68 so easy stealth grabbing doesn't work anymore.

What I'd like to know is can you purge the snare immediately and then just sprint away? Rangers and hunters could also use the speed spell?

the snare doesnt last long anyway, so after a few seconds you are at full sprint, problem is there are so many sharks that you get munched.

I suppose a mincer with SoS would make it easier.

The way I did it, was with a mincer who used SoS, but, it can be solo'd I believe.

Here's one way of doing it (it might work it might not) Get a end over time pot, the improved elixir of invigoration, stealth to the chest, drink the pot, grab the chest and spirit like f00k to the nearest island and presto (hopefully if you still alive) you should be done.


Out of the 6 attempts, I realised dont surface, you get massacred by sharks, sprint underwater to the island, eventually you get the quest boundary.

If you cant solo it, find a friendly shielduser, let him guard you, click chest, let him block almost every hit seeing sharks are yellow-blue. BB would be nice as well though and it should be fixed next patch indeed

the way i did it, as solo without bb.. grab the box, hit speedbuff and sprint, speedbuff wasnt active for long since the sharkzerg grabbed me, however..
I didnt survive the encounter but reached the surface and the gloves appeared, So I believe u only need to get to surface

the way how i got em was, i stealthed down, took the chest dived up till i was in reach 2 vboard my skiff which had my bb in it 2 be able 2 drive away and b4 sharks could gank me i was up and away.

thanks all for telling me how to get them,

the thing is, i wasnt asking for advice of how to, seeing as ive done the encounter. All i was asking is: Does anyone know why i didnt get credit in the BG?

I think ive cracked it anyway, seems Mythic doesnt want low lvl ppl farming artis hehe seeing as im 42 and did Fools Bow and didnt get credit either
