Cameroon star Foe collapses and dies

R.I.P, this guy was a great footballer who spent last season on Loan at Man City and was also a legend on Champ Man whenever I signed him :/

Very sad to see a footballer pass away during the middle of his career, let alone during a match.

All I know is that cos he died, I had to get up at 430am today for a GMTV live from Maine Road. Bloody typical.

Feel sorry for his family though, new born baby and all.

And he was only 28!!

He must have had something really wrong with his heart.

Very sad indeed

What Emb said though, unfortunately. Though as there isn't a reliable test for it yet, and I don't think they are testing footballers red cell counts like they do the cyclists, we will probably never know.

95% of heart attacks under the age of 30 are caused by cocaine abuse.

I feel very sorry for his family, but it'll be interesting to see what the inquest digs up as the cause of death.

Assume this is sarcasm (?) - the largest cause of heart attacks in the under-thirty's is cardiomyopathy, which itself can be caused by viruses, hypertension, heart valve disease, etc.

Was it neccesarily a heart attack? What about a stroke or an aneurysm or something? My medical knowledge is er, limited but what's to say it was a heart attack?

Yeah, when a load of drunk, ticketless police tried to force their way late into a ground that was already full, and so caused the death of loads of their fellow police.

Oh wait a minute it was the Liverpool 'fans' not the police that did that, my mistake....

Heh, that second one is quite funny in that it's one of hundreds of possible causes the bbc decided to publish an essay on, ably headed by a short paragraph mentioning the footballer. There's nothing else in the article to link Foe with the condition.

It has as much validity as Embattle and me mentioning EPO to be honest.

Still interesting read though, the problem with diagnosing the cause of death is that they can say heart attack with some certainty, but without evidence from when his heart was still beating, it's going to be awfully hard to pinpoint what caused the heart attack. Long QT, increase in stamina built quickly through EPO without the heart having time to keep up, or whatever...

It will be interesting when we hear the results of the autopsy and inquest. If it turns out to be EPO related, I wonder if they'll still be renaming the competition the Foe Cup....

The link I posted was more to educate retards like me on possible causes :}

Yeah, It is an interesting link, but it makes me laugh, it's like The Times getting their in house doctor dood to write long old essays on only just relevant subjects to fill space. You should expect better journalism than that sort of conjecture from the bbc, but i'm beginning not to as time goes on.

I do like the way the bbc has wound up Blair though, but thats a whole other discussion.

There was some Ruby player who they reckon suffered that in the middle of a local game.
