NTL kindly rented me a Morola 4100 USB/Ethernet Cable Modem but have neglected to include REAL documentation just some ponsy Presentation CD. I need to know the real ins & outs of this thing and details of it's apparent DHCP capability people are talking about.

Does anyone know where I can get more info please?

cheers

You could try motorola:

http://www.gi.com/noflash/sb4100.html

its got some datasheets

I've got a 3100 and it is a good modem - word of warning the modem is locked to a network card for the duration of the dhcp lease and resetting the modem will not clear it as it is locked to the MAC address at NTL as well. THis is only a problem if U want to move the modem onto another machine, I moved ours from our file server ( running win2k Advanced server) to a 486 running openBSD which is just a gateway - I had to move the network card as well!

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info, that card locking sounds nasty, apparently there's an HTML admin onthe 4100, hopefully that will allow better access, I'll find out when I get home from work tonight!
