I can't see it ending with anything other than a convincing win from Mayweather.

Based on ?

Pacquiao's last fight, he didn't know what to do as soon as cotto started counter punching, something Mayweather is a specialist at

Also Mayweather will want a US fight, so will pull out all the tricks (grabbing, ref breaking up the fight etc etc..)

But then that said Roach is his trainer, so you can never really tell

yes there's nothing more erotic than two men fighting?

Would be a great fight. Pacman is an excellent fighter but Mayweather would probably figure him out.

by all accounts Pac's manager wants to step up another weight to make it 8 (iirc)different belts and different weight classes before Mayweather

Money Mayweather will win. He is just too good. Roach has done wonders with Pac Man but I still cant see anything other than another win for Mayweather

He'll be lucky. Roach's health is deteriorating rapidly. He could barely speak the other day during an interview. This is a shame for Khan as he could go on to be one of Britains best boxers ever with Roach at the helm.

I used to really love boxing but I just cannot seem to get excited by it or this fight anymore. In fairness this should be the fight of the decade but it just leaves me cold, mainly because I don't really care much for either fighter but also because after watching UFC alot lately I just don't find most boxing performances to be as commited as they should be. Not too many warriors in boxing these days to be honest.

did you watch the pacquiao cotto fight? that was two warriors fighting alright, it still suprises me know that cotto is still alive after that beating, the fact he managed to make it to the 12th was nothing short of remarkable.

i'm only just starting to get into boxing, so i could well be wrong, but to me that fight was something of an epic.

edit - also, i'd fancy mayweather if the two did fight, he's class.

I reckon Khan will be a viable opponent for Mayweather in 2 years time.

Manny Pacquiao may indeed fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on March 13, but the opponent may not be Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Promoter Bob Arum on Thursday made an offer to former world champion Paulie Malignaggi for a fight with Pacquiao on March 13. Arum extended the offer to Malignaggi promoter Lou DiBella, who could not be reached for comment on Christmas Eve.
“Lou liked it, but he was having trouble getting a hold of Paulie to discuss it with him because of the holiday,” Arum said.

While the offer hardly means the proposed Pacquiao-Mayweather fight is off, it makes resuscitating it that much harder. The fight, which is expected to be the highest-grossing bout in boxing history, has come to a halt over a dispute over drug testing.
Mayweather is insisting upon testing administered by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, which requires random urine and blood testing up to and including on the day of competition. Pacquiao is willing to submit blood samples, though he doesn’t want to give blood too close prior to a fight because he believes it weakens him.
Arum said Pacquiao would submit to testing, but wants it under the auspices of the Kansas City, Mo.-based National Center for Drug Free Sports.
“All we’re asking is to get a different agency other than (USADA) because they’re clearly inflexible,” Arum said. “We can go with this other one and they’ll come up with a protocol and get it done in an organized way and we’ll still achieve the desired results. “The bottom line is that the (National Center for Drug Free Sports) could do it and wouldn’t interfere as intrusively as USADA.”
Arum said there appears nothing left to negotiate with the Mayweather side, because it will not back off its demand for testing by USADA. Arum said he spoke with Pacquiao’s attorney, Franklin “Jeng” Gacal, on Thursday and said Gacal told him Pacquiao’s position had not changed.
Arum said he decided to make an offer to Malignaggi because Pacquiao wants to fight before he begins his campaign for a seat in the Filipino congress.
“(Team Mayweather) has their position and we have ours and it looks like we’re on different paths, so I made the offer to Lou (for Malignaggi),” Arum said. “No big deal.”
Arum landed an unlikely ally on Thursday when super lightweight world champion Timothy Bradley spoke out in favor of his position.
Bradley was brought into the fray when his promoter, Gary Shaw, issued a news release saying that Bradley was willing to fight either Mayweather or Pacquiao if the fight between them fell apart.
But Shaw then did an interview with Boxingscene.com after his release became public and said Bradley wouldn’t fight Pacquiao unless Pacquiao submitted to the same testing as Mayweather was requesting.
That would make little sense, because if Pacquiao were to accept such testing, he’d do it to fight Mayweather in what would be the richest fight in history.
And Bradley said that’s not his position anyway. He said he hoped the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight was made.
“This whole thing with Pacman and Mayweather is baloney with the steroid and blood testing thing,” Bradley said. “The fans want to see this fight. Everyone wants to see the fight. I want to see it. This is the fight that should be made. But this testing stuff is crazy.
“I’m not worried about Manny Pacquiao. He’s not on steroids. Just because he’s destroying guys, you want to say he’s on steroids? Come on. He’s just that good. He’s been tested how many times and he’s never tested positive. Neither has Mayweather.”
Bradley said he would fight either man if he were given an offer and said he wouldn’t demand tests, as Shaw said he would.
He said he has confidence in commissions like the Nevada Athletic Commission and the California State Athletic Commission to properly administer testing.
“These are big-time commissions and they have a track record of doing the right thing and protecting fighters,” he said. “They clearly take their jobs seriously. You have to do a lot to satisfy their requirements. I don’t get why anyone would be asking for these blood tests above and beyond what Nevada or California might do.
“Neither guy has a history and I think history shows you that the boxers who have tried steroids find it doesn’t work. Look at (Fernando) Vargas. When he fought Oscar (De La Hoya), it turns out he was on steroids and he got tired. Look what happened to him. He got knocked out.”

Slightly lame that Mayweather is trying to put the brakes on this.

Yeah scrapping the fight because he does not want a blood test before the fight is silly just get him to submit blood after the fight and the problem is gone.

ahahhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Even if he is, Mayweather will duck him because that's all he does.

He likes to fight smaller lighter guys and will always justify it...but when it comes to fighting bigger guys he ducks ducks ducks and ducks some more.

He's a sackless douche who values the 0 more than the sport.

Im sorry? What is so funny about what I wrote? Yes, Khan is not the finished product, but with his awesome speed, Roach's technical guile in his corner, and a much more solid defence he has shown since his defeat, there is no reason that Khan cannot become a World great, never mind a British one.

As quite a few people said at the time, Khan's defeat has been a blessing in disguise, as it jolted him out of this bizarre idea that he had of himself, as some type of Mike Tyson-esque boxer, just standing toe-to-toe, winging in constant big shots and dicing with the possibility of being tagged on a suspect chin.

His speed was always more suited to the style he has displayed since, which, while more cautious, can still be destuctive because of his undoubted speed and power. Pacquio has always said he has never fought anyone with the speed and power that Khan has.

People will hark on about his chin, but there are different ways of taking a punch. Lennox Lewis was a prime example....In his two defeats he got caught cold, pure and simple, and got counted out, yet he probably got hit harder in other fights (e.g. Klitchsko, Holyfield) and was able to take the shots....Khan will hopefully learn this art.

As for your comments about mayweather well they are as wide of the mark as you can get. Ducking opponents? He went into the Hernandez fight (who is an extremely tough cookie) with a broken hand and had to fight most of the match with one hand and still won. Then of course he had to move up 2 weight divisions to fight De Le Hoya who wouldnt drop down a weight. Hardly the moniker of someone looking to dodge fights. I assume you mean the likes of Mosely, Williams and Cotto? Well williams was a nobody who called out Mayweather to ride on his coat tails. Why should mayweather fight a nobody? As for cotto, Mayweather offered him the fight at 140 and cotto ducked him. Mayweather also offered Mosely a fight at 147 and Mosely refused because....he had tooth Ache!!.

I dont know what this whole blood test thing is about with Pac, but I know there are rumours he is on steriods (pac man that is), that have been doing the rounds for years, but surely if he was it would have been found by now in his system. I hope its a PR thing rather than Mayweather running scared.

To me, all this seems like pacquiao looking for a way out. Does he not see how guilty it makes him look not wanting to submit to random blood tests?

Well, Roach said that it takes Pacquiao 3 or 4 days to recover after giving blood. Sounds like bollocks, honestly. Last time I was at hospital I gave 7 vials of blood at once for a shitload of tests, and I wasn't any worse off for it. I severely doubt Pacquiao would have to give any kind of meaningful quantity.

I don't doubt he is on the gear, a good percentage of the top boxers are.

Mayweather is probably the best boxer of all time at any weight. He routinely makes good fighters look very, very average. Unfortunately, his style is about as exciting to watch as the Klitschko brothers as it's based completely around never getting hit under any circumstances.

I'd expect Manny to come out like a madman...his only chance is to overpower Mayweather, but I think he'll be too strong and I expect Mayweather to win in 8 rounds without having his chin seriously tested.

Not that I'm an expert, but I do like a good fight.

I hope the fight does happen so Money can finally shut up Pac and all his fans.
