I've seen far too many due to one of my cousins being totally addicted to them.

As for the difference between manga and anime... erm well manga is technically the 'comic' form and anime is the 'animated' form. Sooo, that would mean that all animated Japanese films are in fact anime...

Nearest I can get to an accurate english enunciation of manga is that you say it with a 'mUNG-ghA' and not 'MANG-GA' as most of us English speaking ppl seem to say it.

I'd like most of them but I do find the Japanese fixation with prepubescent girls and boys very disturbing...

Class manga by the way would be something like Blade of the Immortal...

Class anime would be Ghost in the Shell (though it was originally a comic)...

animé generally takes a much 'cuter' approach, frequently using Super Deforms or children as characters, with mad bright blinding colours. They always have the stylised large eyes.

Manga is much more the adult variant, with truer depictions of the human form, though that commonly changes with artists.

Animé is as I recall simply the japanese word for animation - so manga would fall under the same category, had it not been hijacked by the cutesy brigade.

I actually really enjoy the music vids. you can get from the net.

Evangelion's 'the final count down' is amazing,

as is,

Rurouni Kenshin's 'mortal (kyoto) kombat' too.

Macross + though just absolutely r0x0rz mY b0x0rz with 'information highway'.

I dunno where you'd download them from, I got mine off a uni. m8 a couple of years back. If you can get them, you'll see what I mean by they are suuuuperb :D Maybe even better than the series / films they were taken from ;)

Dolly is quite correct: Animé is the animated form of Japanese cartoons, so anything produced in Japan in that style as a cartoon is classified as animé. Manga is the comic form, which we rarely get to see over here.

I doubt many people here have seen it, but the manga (comic-book) version of Star Wars IV is pretty good.

Confusion probably arises between the two terms because the main distributor of animé in the UK is a company named "Manga Home Video".
