Anyone else feel the same as me?

Up until now we had different races depending on realm.

We now have a common race.

Up until now we had different classes with similar aspects within segments of class.

We now have a common class.

From what I read and hear Maulers will be quite/very powerful depending on who you talk to of course. Some people call is FOTM but I see this as an end game. With levels of people dropping and a class that is all powerful and ever new games coming out does this no infact seal the fate of DAOC?

Or maybe I have this complety wrong?

Tbh I don't see the mauler as the last nail in the coffin for daoc as they are pretty useless in fgs. There are so many other classes that brings so much more utility to grps than a mauler does.

It might fuck up the solo action tho.. But for soloers alot of ppl like abit of a challenge and not just a non killable class that pwns all other classes.

The next month or two alot of solo maulers will be around, but I think ppl will get pretty tired of it quickly and go back to their usual chars.

may be get them to stop spec 50 Power strike then maulers have loads of grp util if specced right

and again dont spec 50 PS if you dont wanna spam one button

well they have some good stuff, like pbaoe cast time increase, NS timer decrese chant thing grp HoT, BT, TWF, fumble debuff.. not the best grp char ofc, but a good mauler with good toys can be quite good in a grp tbh

I believe the mauler might be overpowered now, but mythic can solve that by nerfing them (or make the others stronger for that matter). And I believe they will instead of let the game run dry.

Maulers own also in FG's depends on how you spec it tbh, they got so many tools to interrupt and destroy casters and ofc they are vulnerable to CC but as soon as some maulers will get some RR and Purge3 then it's going to be a different story.
Most Maulers atm are low RR so can't really base an opinion about them untill they get atleast a decent amount of realm ability points and from what I've seen they are really great in groups and have a very nice rr5 and RA list aswell.

saw the first 50 today, not even 24 hours after activation......

No big suprise to be honest, been leveling one in PoC using my ML9 caby. So far lvl 47 with /play at only 9 hours. 2 hours of that semi afk. The XP and money increase is really nice. My caby also went from Champ level 5.7 to very close to 9.

Were they even level 50? Did they have a fully kitted template? Were they ml10? were they cl10? were they rr5+ ?

If the answer to any one these is no then you really can't make an assessment yet. Give any non-templated/non-50/non ml'd/low RR class and they be easily slaughtered unless they were a really good player that knew the in's and out's of the game (and possibly abused walkthrough/strafing)

i aint played a mauler on TOA but on classic they v strong in 1v1 situations. and IMO average at best in grp situations.

They aint as OPd IMO as people make out.. some folks seem to think they gonna wreck doac and the solo scene which im pretty sure isnt the case at all.

pole arms like any other 2h should own maulers till the maulers hits around rr4 then try dueling

maulers relay on the RA's alot

then build on others passives ie aug qui aug strif needed

and if you want to dual if duel ya i have got purge 2 now and 2378 hp 400str 250qui so should be nice to see
