This game has hurt my feelings
Not only did I leg it to that machine gun as ordered, I survived the mission, only to get a bollocking of the boss, hence gameover.
I don't understand should I operate the machine gun as ordered, or scaper down the hill, and probably get my head blown off.

I'd like some tips, plz

You have to stay at your post until ordered to leave.

Best thing is to leg it there straight away, and take out as many of the enemy as you can. This'll make it easier when you have to scarper.

Though you will get killed a lot before you complete it...

Is it possible to prevent the invasion? ie is it in the story to retreat, as I get 3 red crosses, and gameover if I do.

If it is possible, what do you do when the enemy tanks arrive, as a non-autofire machine gun is no use, can I use grenades on them, I know the other guy has a rocket launcher, can I find one somewhere too?

This mission is the best yet
I only hope I can do it

No, the retreat is scripted, just remember to stay in the MG turret untill the order to move is given... That should keep you right. This is where the game gets really cool.
