Well, probably not, but I just hooked up my new stage piano to my laptop and I'm looking for some good software to work with it.

I'm no musician (had lessons till I was, like, seven) and reading music still poses a problem (sooooo slow) and I've not had regular access to any kind of keyboard since I left home 16 years ago but I would like to fuck about and make some choons :)

I presume all I need is some sequencer type software but if anyone here's got any tips...?

Cool Tom. What did you use to put it together?! :)

Oops. Didn't spot it - mildly intoxicated. :)

I ruptured the medial collateral ligament in my knee before Christmas and I've not been able to walk since - so my days currently are a very sedentary mish mash of games/tv/films/music/feeding the cat and getting mashed.

Can't be good for the mental health but as of tomorrow I'm allowed to crutch around properly- a valentines trip to Amsterdam with the girlfriend, a few doobies and a handful of mushrooms and I'll be right as rain! All primed for the massive detox that starts next week...

Ta for the tips. :)

Hopefully nobody will notice that toward the end of the track, I stole a chord progression from Jarre's "Ethnicolor", on Zoolook.

I only have two keyboards at the mo, an old Casio HT3000 that I bought for sentimental reasons, and a 49-key Novation SLII.

I was seriously close to dropping £2,500 on a Roland V-synth GT but I came to my senses. God that is a sexy beast.

No such extravagances here. Just a Roland RD-300SX. Set me back about 700 quid IIRC.

I'm afraid my acoustic piano has had it - to be retuned it needs to be restored, and it just isn't worth the expense. So it's essentially pikey-treasure. I intend to replace it with a nice digital piano, possibly an upright, maybe a mini-grand if I have the money.

But then again, I also want a recumbent bicycle this year. And I'd also like a Renovo bicycle too.

Who knows, with this industry I might not have a home in a year. You never can tell.

My next major purchase will be a grand piano. But they're not cheap.
