even if i know how to get the clips small i can send adam teh clips to make pwnage, had a few atm so gunna keep it short.
Want to make a ns vid ofc cause i love the class and the stealth game, and solo eld pov, played so much of this and hope i can pull myself together and restart some.

Am wanting todo same thing myself, I don't know about editing or compression but I know most people have really big hard drives or they use gamecam, which compresses it all for you but looks a bit rough around the edges so to speak.

fraps will always produce huge files as it cant compress on the fly, 1 hour is usually around the 2 gig mark. i tend to record all the time then after an hour or so, or between runs snip what i want from the files with virtual dub, you still end up with huge files but not wasted space.

follow these guides here

and

they should help you out a bit.

edit: using VFs method of recording you are restricted to a low game res or it wont record properly, i prefer fraps myself as it records whatever res you play in, though the qual is a little better with TV-Out.

Why do you get restricted to playing 1024 max? Does that have to do with your video-out settings or the input the other computer can handle?

afaik its the svideo cable that doesn't support resolutions higher then 1024 max, unfortunately. theres external converters you can buy that downscale the signal from your vga down to 1024, and it then sends it over the svideo cable.

but, as usual, those things have a pricetag and are out of my budget right now. they are about 100 euros as far as ive seen, all the way up to 700-800 for the top models. but then i know so little about them, i might be looking at something completely wrong. :p

basic steps of making a vid is:

- get into playing properly

- find a way to record you're comfortable with

- record a shitload and pick the best/funny clips, whatever you wanna use

- think of a nice story line to match your footage, music, style you wanna use

- edit it in whatever program you like using, and take your time for it

- render and compress your vid (both can be done at once, but i dont like premiere for compressing so i do it after)

- find a host, upload, share

of each individual step there is info to be found i guess, but feel free to ask away if something is still unclear. many people around here to answer your questions one way or another :p

VF summed it up pretty nice, but kinda forgot one thing. When you make a movie you must be prepared to be critized and/or flamed for your choice of music, editing, playstyle, group, realm, name, hair color, shoe size etc etc etc.

another noob question here then:p
When i finish my movie it is in a setting so it delivers it in a little widescreen format. Since i havent used adobe premiere a lot before i couldnt find the settings to change that, but i suspect its in the first window you get up when starting a project?
I didnt bother later either cause i always liked a lil widescreen, but can imagine that if i released it people here would think the distortion would be gay^^
Anyone knows a simple way to change it:)?
