Makin vids of the game

What do i need to get to do that...

Ive got a really really good compy setup so shouldnt need a vid capture card......

Isnt there a program that can capture a vid for me without usin a capture card???

PLS need to know since i wana do vids

2 ways

easiest is two PCs and just get some video capture software on your second PC...

with one PC the only real option is to output your video card to your VCR and record on some tape, then reverse the process afterwards and use video caputre software to record the video.


go check up on some video capture software, and get started...

oh and recording while you play on one pc is technically possible, but the game will be totally unplayable...

Tried snagit and all its capture peers, but as chappy said above generally makes game unplayable.Easiest way is to take Svideo output of grfx card and clone desktop thru it to a vcr or for better quality DV cam/recorder (or if u just plain stupid like me and dont have to pay for tapes a DIGI beta) then replay back in edit, etc etc

how can i get my gfx card to have vid-out and on-screen at the same time?

i have a asus gf2 ultra deluxe with 32mb ram and can only get it to work throught TV-Tool (but then the screen goes crap)

basicly most new cards (gf3+) with tv out will do both tv + monitor (twinView) with no fps drop or anything like that. Infact with my GF4 ti4600 128 i dont notice if ive got tv out turned on or not. Only way to do it with one computer is using a VCR to record the output then using a TV capture or some TV-IN card to record back onto your computer at a later date. even with the meatiest of computers you're not going to be able to record your screen to file directly while playing daoc - forget about it.

Screen looks crap cos u sending an SVideo signal to composite input or modified scart, u need to make a cable up .......

Camtasia should work on one comp, play and rec, not tryed it my self someone ingame told me he used it and it didnt lag your comp that much.

I tryed camtasia when defending fens the other night, ended up with a 3.6gig large movie file, bout 10-15min long :/
think i screwed up configs or something, but im a noob so cba to look it up, deleted it :>

You need to choose your codec when recording carefully - a more efficient one will capture enough to make the vid look reasonable without leaving you with a huuuge file .... experiment with them and choose the one you are happy with .

Or for quality sake you can record as an ucompressed AVI and then shrink offline using a video editor such as Final Cut for MAC or Vegas or Premiere for the PC

Anyone happen to know what you need to record daoc movies to another pc?
Both pc's have a 'decent' videocard but i can't exactly tell which connectors etc.

here is a little program u can use to make films all u do is hit F9 and it will start to record, but the movies tend to get abit big so be careful
