Magic Squares

riiiight, i need to pick some brains... anyone remember any of this pap from your school days? i'm helping someone with it and i got no clue, so i thought i'd bring it here and see if any of you peeps knew anything about it or remember an "easy way" of doing it

 -1 ___  10  -6 ___ ___  =  12
 -8 ___  -1 ___ ___  -9  = -24
 -2 ___ ___ -10  -9   1  = -32
___   6   8   7  10 ___  =  49
  5 ___   8  -6  -4   7  =  19
___  -3 ___ ___  -6 ___  =   1

 -6  -3  26  -1  -9 -18    -11 = \

all you need to know is it's an addition one, and you can only use numbers between -10 and 10 (and 5 and -11 are the sums of the diagonals)

Took two mins to work out that is ain't possible.

I have given the missing attributes letters to make it easier to explain.
K= 9 (That is the only thing that is certain).
The value of I+ J = 18. Therefore the lowest value J can be is 8. If J has a value of 8, then C + O must equal -25. As C, O >= -10, the combined value of these cannot be (C+O) >= -20. Therefore this magic piece of maths cannot work. I have prolly made a really stupid mistake, but that is my take on the situation. Hope this helps.

Well miss Tremor stormed off last nite saying that it was wrong and she "cant be fucking arsed"i think she did the vertical and horizontals but the diagnol worked out wrong but dont quote me on that.

On the occasions i actually went 2 maths, i never had anything like this, i really cudn't grasp the slightest, smallest idea wot it was about, i am not good wid maths(or english)but fuck me this confused the shit outta me what age was this question set 4 callous?If its for any1 under 15 i need 2 get a lobotomy

Well I am currently doing A level maths and we don't get anything like this, all calculus shit at the moment. We did magic squares when I was 14 i think, but don't remember how to do them properly. Putting random numbers in is the way to go in my opinion.
