Mage class for PvP

I've been trying to think of the best mage class to play on the PvP servers. I'm not going to be playing a chanter as they are a bit obvious and frankly the idea of playing one on PvP will just make life tedious as they'll be millions of you.

So I thought I'd ask for peoples opinions on this one. I quite like the idea of doing a hib one due to the stun but would be willing to try one from any realm. I've played a sorc on Prywd and quite liked them but with the next patch both bards and healers will be able to CC better due to the instas.

So what do you all think, which one should I play ?

It depends if u going solo or not.

If u going solo the Mana ELD and Mana Ench is VERY good.

The Mana ELD looks awesome in versatility also.

The mana enchanter is awesome becasue u have a sec caster/tank.

The Mana Ment is awesome also but rox more in big battles really. And keep defence.

BTW i think the Mana Enchanter can solo all other classes 1 v 1.
But if u dont wanna b 1 among many so dont go enchanter ;p

Mentalist is definitely a good choice. As a menta i would go: 45 light (specc AOE and single target DD + charm), 25 mana (power regen 3, fair aoe-single target Dot) and finally 16 on mentalism (34sec single target mezz). Of course you can lower light and get a boost in the other lines, depends on your style.

imo for solo light chanter/ment or dark sm
for group mana chanter, supp sm or dark/supp rm

sm lacks speed, otherwise sm >> chanter

Plus you get speed and nearsight....

Still, soloing is largely a waste of effort in PvP. Really wouldn't plan on soloing much - you'll get nowhere.
