Is the lvl 10 ability wolf morph on Maddening Scalars any good? and what does it do?

I'd prefer a cat, but there you have it. It's supposed to have a dot offensive proc, but it's never gone off for me. It's more of a disguise so people can't instantly see what class you are. It's also a right pain in the bum (unless the bug kicks in whereby everybody else sees you as a wolf, but you still see yourself as your original toon) when fighting because you can't physically see if your spell has gone off or if you've landed an hit as you're a wolf - no animation for the before-mentioned.
