Macro help

I've not had much experience with macro's in DAOC except for simple /whisper task ones etc.

But for reaver i heard they're handy for switching to quickbar's quickly so u can switch to and from the parry chains fast while still having access to your lifetap and other essentials.

I've tried

/macro block /qbar3 2

The 2 at the end is to tell it to start that chain but it doesn't seem to work, it goes to quickbar 3 like it is meant to but doesn't start the chain.

Could anyone tell me if it is possible to make it start the chain and if it is then how please?

You can only have one command per macro.

Mythics macro system is more or less useless(with some exceptions).

qb2 = shift+2

If i read this right, you want to create a macro chain of events sparked by a single key hit..........afraid that this is not really allowed under CoC as it could be exploited by scripters creating crafting scripts so they can hit a key and have the character act as a bot :)

I know you werent planning anything as underhanded as this, but i hope this goes some way to explaining why the DAoC macros dont allow chaining.

If i misunderstood the post i apologise :)

Could try to use a macro to switch to a "block" quickbar, then use the same number key for the viper style (i.e. tap it twice to start chain off from main quickbar), then run through the chain and back to main toolbar. Same for parry chain, but on a separate "parry" toolbar :)

Thanks for the advice :)

I'll just have to set-up the block button to take me to qbar3 then manually press to start the chain and do the similar thing for parry....

I don't really see the point in macro's in DAoC if they don't do something as simple as do a chain of 2 things. The only thing macro's are really good for is when you have something to say often.

They are still very useful tho. For instance say your block macro is on number 3 of qbar1, your macro could be /macro Block /qbar2 and in the number 3 spot of qbar 2 you put viper to start your block chain, then when you block you double tap number 3 which first changes qbars and then hits viper to start that chain.

I would suggest you plan out your qbars in advance to include all the styles including your lvl 50 ones. Nothing worse then at lvl 44 getting a new style and having no room for it and then redoing and relearning 6 qbars! <blush>

Ummm

ummm ... 6Qbars to fight with ... hmm ... am i doing something wrong ? ... just actually using 1.2 QB's to fight with where i have my

Friars Boon + Counter-Evade Combo (QB 9 still contains the Figure Eight combo but that is only in use if Duelling against a dam high specced shield user) + Taunt shout + Stick + Biggish heal + Detaunt + Quickstrike Combo and then 1 spot free depending of place and use used as minor heal or heal disease.

QB 2 & 3 are selfbuffs + other buffs

QB 10 are all sorts of heal stuff + rezzes

and well, the other x qbars are used for crafting 8/

If i'm talking crap here then just ignore me please ... i'm just a crossdresser with a staff.

Macros can actually be used to create macros (I only learned this a few days ago). A useful macro for this would be one to make a new assist macro for whoever is the main assist in the group: /macro makea /macro assist /assist %t -- Just target whoever should be main assist, hit your make assist macro, and then put your shiny new macro where it is supposed to be on your quickbars.

Yeh the only thing macros are good for is:

a) spamming
b) assisting.

At high level flex reavers get a 4-hit combo for when we block... a 3-hit combo for when we parry... a side positional style... 2 rear positional styles... 4 none prerequesite styles....

This isn't including:
lifetap
DoT
3 aura's
DPS buff
Guard
Protect
Engage
Intercept
Slam (if you go that high in shield)
