Need techie assistance :p

1800+ AMD Processor
64 Meg Kyro II
90gig hard drive

Now im going to expand my RAM to 512, which DDR or SDRAM should i buy? If possible please state the performance analysis :)

It really depends on what your motherboard is.

Most of the new Athlon XP boards take DDR ram, so find out if your board takes it.

Also, if possible, try and go for PC2700 DDR ram, a 512Mb stick will cost about £150 for a good make. Go for one of the big name manufacturers, as the RAM will be more reliable. Crucial is usually a good make, but I have heard reports recenlty of their DDR RAM being a little bit suspect.

What is your current RAM? 256Mb? If you can afford it, buy the extra 512Mb, it will make a difference, though DAOC will still eat it all up :)

I got gygabite motherboard i think, im not sure how well it works rather with DDR + AMD combo. Any comments ?

If you check the gigabyte website for the specifications of your motherboard you will find what type of RAM it takes, as well as the maximum amount.

Just find the model number of your motherboard and check on that page to see the specifications.
