You can actually ding 50.5 which means you don't lose con when dying. If i remember correctly it was the total of all the XP you'd already earned to ding 50 all over again.

This may well be wrong due ot being out of date info, was like that about a year ago.

THere always were rumors about what one might get when one reaches 50.5 and then 50.10.

Some people even contunied hunting and actually made the extra 10 bulbs to find out.

And all the found out was that they had wasted all that time!

It would be nice for us people who like PvE to get something for 50.5 and 50.10 even if it's pure fluff, but it's not likely to happen. I'm already 50.2 due to leveling other characters on a second account and I suspect in about 6 months I'll be 50.5 easily.

it does noubt ;p

my chanter has had 10 bubs @ 50 for months now and got nothing extra.

its just lazy programming from mythic ;p instead of stopping all xp bar increases once you hit 50, it carries on.

rr5 is referred to as level 51 due to the dps and af bonuses you gain

i.e. swords will be 16.5 dps instead of 16.2

your DSP and AF caps are increase as if your level was 51, meaning you get full use out of level 51 weapons and armour. I'm not sure if your 'to-hit' changes for melee and spells. Mainly the L51 weapons and armour have more embuse points for Spell Crafting but thats not that importaint as you don't have to be RR5 to use them.

No doubt when "trials of another expansion" is released, and the level cap is raised to 60, those hardcore XP'ers will ding 51 in a jiffy.

unless im very much mistaken(which i probably am) only spells are affected with to-hit bonuses from rr5? not 100% on this but i remember some savage whining about the overpoweredness of casters a while ago ;)

I don't remember there being a to-hit modifier on being RR5, but then again, my thoughts are as grounded as yours :)

In 1.36 you were able to ding 50.5 and get spec points. Tho not many did that and it was changed after.

Spells chance to hit is purely and solely dependent on the relationship between SPELL LEVEL and TARGET LEVEL. Spec or caster level doesn't come into it (other than to grant the spell in the 1st place)

You mean a lvl 20 toon with his lvl 20 DD has the same chance to hit a lvl 50 mob as a lvl 50 char with the same lvl 20 spell?

I think spell level is one of the variables which go into the to-hit formula, but not the only one, char level goes in there, too.

And as far as I know, RR5 doesn't count as lvl 51 in any ways besides the mentioned dps and AF bonus.

yes correct. if the level 50 guy has l50 spec in that spell his damage range will be higher, and i imagine he will have higher piety so his damage total will also be higher. But the "to hit" chance is the same

edit: this might be helpful

Hm, not convinced :)

Will do some tests tonight. A lvl 50 char should have a hit rate of 70-80% with a lvl 20 spell (rough guess) against a lvl 50 mob.
But I don't think a lvl 20 char will ever hit a level 50 mob solo.

lvl 20 char can hit a lvl 50 player, even a lvl 10 char can... but no way in hell they can hit a lvl 50 mob. I think there are different formulas for PvE and PvP.

Also, only thing you get @ 50.5 is an 'xp lock' (And con restore begins at 1, then 2, and finally 3 con points again) if i'm not mistaken.

And people call lvl 51 rr5 + lvl 50, because you get +4 in all speclines, and because you can use .3 dps more on weapons, and have a higher AF. Comparable as between lvl49 and lvl50.
