Lv 6 Eldritch Needs help

Hi Guys

Im new to DAOC and im loving it a lot. Especially the strength of magic in this game.

But im taking a really long time to level, more than an hour each level and I was just wondering if anyone had any hints or tips for a Eldritch like me?

Also is there like a map out there with a list of the available mops at that area? I came from lineage and we had a site lineagecompendium.com that had detailed maps of areas and the mops there and what they dropped

does DAOC have this?

Harlow and well come to DAOC :p

You should still be in the town of mag mel just follow the road north until u come to the town of ardee.. bind the than continue north until u reach the river there u will see loads of stuff to kill should last u till about 9 i think than you could head down to tnm which is south from mag mel. That should last u until about 14 than u can start getting into groups and try curms and parths at the farm (take horse from ardee to get there)

Tasking should help alot too. Go to a named guard type /whisper task. They will give u a kill task good exp and some money to get u along. Hope this helps

I also have a Ns lvl 8 now i think by the name of lifesbane can always msg me ingame i"ll help if i can " ) hope this helps

What path should i go with

I started putting my points into mana at the start although ive heard that Void is now the best should i stick with mana or change?

You should chose what you think is most fun to play. I have only played a void eld when i played Hib. And i got him to lvl13. He did some nice damage but i have heard that its hard to get groups when you are a void eld.

Yup it true void eld are great soloers their bolts do hell lota damage but in groups your bolts tend to get block most if not all the time so that kinda suxs.

Mana eld are great in groups as long as there is a tank to protect you. Your pbAoE will take down mobs very fast and in RvR u are very good at defending keep and such.

Haven played a light eld yet but so dont really know much about them. The have faster cast times and stun and negate sight which just plain rocks!!

Just play what u like explore the game thats the fun of it isnt it?

why oh why does daoc official site not have boards ????

because they were "bad publicity" for GOA... people flaming left right adn center

if that was the way NC looked at the lineage boards they would have got rid of them a long time ago

I cant see anythiing wrong with DAOC at all. Sure ive been d/c'ed once or twice when ive lagged but thats great trust me

In lineage if u lag u just stay connected to the client and when things even out your dead to a really low lv mob as it was whacking the hell out you while u lagged.

You might find "MyPetMage" quite useful.

Deduct a level or two from the soloing guides.

I had my Eldritch up to 24 in about 1.5 days /play-ed.
Soloed him all the way there (completely void specced, though - soloing is a dream that way).

Oh - and void Eldritches "own" in RvR (ca. 100rp in two nights in Thidranki). Bolts all the way.

DD and debuff is good enough for PvE, in my opinion.

GOA's service during launch was terrible... not as bad as AO, but still... problems that we complained about in BETA we'rent fixed by launch.... launch itself was delayed by 15 days, lots of lag when they first brought the servers online, it took AGES to "translate" the first patch from Myhtic and servers were down for days during that time, and the forums we're just one big flame fest eg "GOA have done it again" or "GOA are Shite" , etc.

It attracted muppets like free beer attracts student's, and everyone loved to flame.... they never moderated the forums, or they did, by selecting mods from the comunuty - these then got seen as GOA too, and they were flamed beyond the fires of hell
I believe 1 in 20 was a decent post, and was burried in the flames.
When potential new costumers visited the site, they would most likely look at the forum - and see 20 topics stating why GOA are shite.... most of these deserted to the US servers by now, though we still get the od flame - GOA doesn't read these boards, so flaming won't get them anywere (thats a lie actually - kemor and the other dude DO post now and then, but not often)

Usually when people flame GOA, we /laugh at them

after i got used to all the jargon for lineage now ill need to learn new ones

DD = direct damage
pbaoe = point blank area of effect
AE = area effect

i forgot i started here lol till bout lv 8 or something and then went excal :)
