Lurikeen changed to Lury - petition

Ok, it seems like a few nice fellows in Midgard has complained to GOA and made them change Lurikeen's name to Lury, so what we have started here is a small petition to get GOA to change the name back to Lurikeen. He's been using this name for since the beginning of time and changing the name of a well known lvl50 is NOT acceptable.

So all who are in favor of GOA changing Lurikeen's (Lury) back again, sign here ... the rest of you .. sod off :flame:

not offense to luri, but that name, incuding the other "names" which are races of other realms should be changed too.

This is silly. He has been playing with that nick since the beginning. I'd get vewy angry if I got the nick I had been using for over 6 months changed to something completly different.

So I take it Dwarf has to have his named chanced too ?

I think someone had a bone or something againts Luri's name and say to goa that they ort to chance it ... it works reported a name once meself, not saying whos ... and made them chance it for him.

But if it wasen't so then they realy ort to get their heads fixed, or chance the name of all the chars who have names of the races.

So YIR!!! chance the name back.

This is just so LOL !! , He has been playing with that name since server started , ofc he should keep it, how can they just change it with out ask him if there is any possible if he can decide another name, but NOO , they just go change it to lury ..... ://

I wub u lurikeen , stand up for your self , msg goa and make them get your name back , or they will feel your wrath with 1h legion sword :)

!!! GoA plz, lol ? i would like all other who have similar name to be changed also then ? ....saraceen , highlander , etc etc....

btw changeing lurikeen's name is to have nick Bosse and have to change to Johan..

I first heard about this on IRC tonight. And honestly, I feel for you, but I agree with the name being changed. GOA does reserve the right to change your name if it fails to meet their CoC. What part, I'm not sure.

If you click on him, as a Mid, you see Lurikeen. If you do so as an Alb or Hib, you'll see Dwarf. And in [] you'll see Lurikeen, in text, saying he's an enemy.

So yes, I think it does cross the line of NPC names, perhaps, but I don't see the advantage.

Dunno...perhaps Lury can post the reason GOA gave him for the change.

Personally i've had times when you know he's about near you (say taking a keep) and a "real" lurikeen flys past me - all i spot is "lurikeen invader" and i ignore it for a bit too long as it takes longer to realise its a real enemy.

I'm sure it doesnt happen to people who group with him alot - visually your used to it. Lots of people dont though. That makes the name detrimental to the realm...

On the other hand i do think GOA took a long while to do anything about it, and he must feel pretty gutted... :-/

I wholey agree that the change should be given out to everyone with other realms races as their names.

there so much names on pryd and excal that are 10x worse, disturbing and offensive then Lurikeen.

I hope you get the name back.

I got me surname changed from ™ to something silly...
how many ™ is there on pryd alone now ?
GOA are totaly worthless when it comes to CoC, even the swedish police process are faster....

I feel sick when I think about those who take their time to report nonsense like this.
It takes time to become a name in the ranks of midgard and now we have lost one...

Give back the name of Lurikeen one of our finest Midgardians!

The most confusing thing in rvr is not names it's fellow chars that have the look of an enemy.

Pesonally I am quite happy about it, as I have mistake him for a enemy many time, but I guess that was his plan all along, he even took the invader as last name as the enemy was once called that.

yes he had his name for quite a long time, but think he brought this on himself by choosing the name in the first place

Don't you have anything better to do? GOA surely have better things to do. All who don't like it should go out and RvR more, learn that mids dont turn up on nearest enemy button, learn that Lurikeen is a name of a player.

He has been around since the beginning so everyone should know by now.

How hard can it be?

He broke the rules, he got a namechange, live with it. And yes, everyone else who as a name (and/or lastname) that breaks the rules should also have a namechange enforced upon them.

<shrugs> so report them then.....:rolleyes:

As for extended characters in second names, yes it's all the fashion, you young and trendy lot, but it screws with chronicles XML so please avoid them....

sorry whilst i had no problem with lurikeen as it was obviouse he never was a lurikeen being a dwarf and thearfore easily identifiable as such I do have a problem with all the gimps calling thems selvs saracen or similar etc who are norce cos untill u click on them u cant tell and i have reported sed gimps in the past.

I guess if thay change their names thay have to change luris also

Sick of GOA.

They change a name because someone is annoyed with him calling his char Lurikeen when they have 10 times bigger issues to deal with.

I just hate it. I am so against this type of censorship, yepp, that is what is. I don't give a rats ass if they call it a violation against CoC.

GOA, you stink.

And the players that reported it sucks.

Glad GOA is cleaning out names ... but as said there are worse names and they have a lot of other thing to catch up with.

Don´t wish he gets his name back though ... those who know him will surely pay as much respect to his new name ... it´s still the same player but now with a name that´s not "out of setting/theme/spirit" of the world beeing simulated.

Actually I am that NPC ... getting a bit bored now ... play value is kinda low so Im thinking about making a non-npc character but never tried one, in beta I played the horse between Mularn and Vasudheim got bored with that too =).

Jokes aside dont know if there is a NPC Thorulf ... ? If I´ll be forced to change because of that ... no problem. But I rather have a name that could be assosiated to the age/theme of the game so I hope the NPC havent taken all regular norsenames.
