Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any software that will lower a movie files resolution..

Ive recorded a few movies and wish to send them via email but most of them are over 3MB for just 10 seconds worth of video...

Thanks in advance.

I use Adobe Premiere 6.5 to do my video editing, and that allows output of the movie over a broad range of WMP, Real player and Quicktime formats that I use to e-mail.

Premiere is probably a bit pricy though but I imagine most of the budget end video editing software would do something similar, maybe even Windows MovieMaker, if you are using XP it is built in. (I have not used it so this may not be true).

Smaller files do not only mean lower resolution, i.e. pixel dimensions, but also amount of compression. I use a WMP output designed to be streamed over 700Kb broadband or a network. This gives a good balance between file size and quality, though it is still around 5Mb per minute.

Hope this helps

or grab the WM7 encoder from microsoft.com - it will shrink the files and guarantee compatibility.
