Low level dueling...

Hi everyone...

I was thinking of trying to set up some duels between all 3 realms for levels 20-25. Thoses levels are usually a bit low to be going full rvr and so to try and have a bit of fun while building your characters - we could spend a couple of hours whacking 7 bells out of each other.

Anyone got any ideas...the main one being where....and how to organise so you dont get ganked on the way.

May I suggest the breathtaking, awe-inspiring nature of Hadrians Wall?
Not so crowded and good spots to hide away in from the big guys.

Dont tell me where though, as I might get tempted to come there and try out my new xbow

I took my lvl8 scout there a few days back.
One helluva scary trip from Snowdonia, but it would surely be worth it to fight some equal leveled mids/hibs

I think you need a high level resser / chaperone for the groups to get through to the meeting point.

I don't mind doing this for the mids when I hit 50 (which should be this weekend).

I agree Hadrians is a good idea. There must be somewhere to hide away there.

I don't see anything wrong in doing this, as Mythic are going to formalise this in a future patch anyway.

Duels on pellinor were alot of run (My main was a pally...not really a good rvr character but not bad at duels) I've done this a few times with middys on this server for a bit of a laugh (Almost owned lokii when he didn't have any armour on

Lowbie dueling is also alot for fun- especialy due to the fact goa are slow with battlegrounds... fighting a yellow or orange con enemy is alot of fun

As duelling is frowned upon (as its seen as RP farming) why not wait until the Battlegrounds come in ?

There you will have access to 3 levels of battleground, whereby you can duel all you like. Once you reach a particular level (or amount of RPs) you progress to the next battleground.

With any luck, it shouldnt be too long now ...

This game is about fun ...

We have to play by the rules.

Maybe pedantic - whos to say - and I for one would love to play this game & get paid for it.

Within the rules, you can have a lot of fun ...

The main problem with Hadrians Wall is the number of high level aggro mobs there.

Of course thats assuming you actually get there and don't get eaten by the high lvl aggro mobs in Pennines

As I said, I took my measly lvl8 Scout there, just got to know where to put your feet down and where to not do it.
Recon most highlevel people who have been RvRing a lot knows where, we just have to guide those who dont know.

As for RP farming duels....
Well, the duels I have had have always ended before someone dies. You can most often tell who is going to win before someone dies and thats the point of a duel.
To test your characters weaknesses and strengths against other realms classes, not to farm RPs (though I know this is being done as well).
You are 2 hits from killing someone? Sheate your weapon, back off and know you will take this class in RvR later

Yes i think a lvl 50 druid dueling is just called RP farming, a lvl 10 dueling against other lvl 10 is called fun, the rps they are worth is going to be too low to farm anyway

(other side nobody can hinder them killing duellers - its THEIR decision like its MINE whom to kill - but u see..

To be honest - i think its only going to be the intervention of luck that actually gets the battlegrounds installed.....

And just to make things clear - no one is rp farming...(hell I dont even know what that is..but i guess you let yourself die - get rezzed - then your enemy lets himself die).

...Anyway - thanks for making this game such fun Carrot - i thought most people on this game where friendly and not um..mature.(you remind me of the old git who wont give the kids their ball back).*sigh* some people (lets just hope you are roleplaying :/)

Anyway - it sounds like we have some interest so we will hopefully get something sorted.

Just out of interest - why is duelling frowned upon??

I see any one from an enamy relm I eather attempt to kill em or run away.

I dont give a elfs ear if your so called dueling. If your a alb or a hib your the enamy simple as that. If your a mid whos dueling someone whos the enamy great ill poison them and desiese them and cure you so you win.

Thear are no arenas, thear is no official dueling set up, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR A 3rd PARTY TO KNOW IF YOUR HONISTLY HAVING A BIT O FUN OR RP FARMING.

Like I said attempt to kill em (and perhaps die) or run away are the only 2 options I consider.

I think some people get confused over dueling and farming.

Farming imo is when you get players sitting down whilst they allow enemy players to kill them, then rez and repeat. Dueling is when you get two players actually trying to kill each other, not just trying to share RP's.

One thing I find very strange about this game is that you see a blue con realm mate fighting a green con monster, you'll leave him/her alone to get the exp. It is frowned upon to steal that kill and nobody with any sense does it.

Now that same person finds a blue con realm mate fighting a green con enemy player. All rules are thrown out the window and he/she attacks. Why?

Surely we have RvR (In groups, where teaming is good, fort takeovers etc...) and PvP (Players going to find enemies to fight). What gives anybody the right to steal someones kill just because it's the enemy?

All the people here who say that if they see someone fighting, they'll attack, I really hope you don't actually go around stealing kills unless your realm mate is in serious trouble and losing the battle.

This is my opinion.

If you duel, do it at your own risk.

if I catch an nme that cons green I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO GANK YOU, cos I will get some realmpoints and of course cos you are an nme from an nme realm.

I agree with carrot on dueling, do it if you must, dont expect us to leave you alone tho.

If I see you and you are green con or higher I WILL KILL YOU.

if its and alb and hib duelling, great, I WILL KILL YOU BOTH

if its 2 yellow alb/hib and I know I cant kill you both, I WILL RUN LIKE FECK AND GET MY FRIENDS TO KILL YOU

Just like you think you deserve the right to duel in peace (Which is against the CoC), carrot and I have the right to gank anyones ass if they con gren or up and they are from an nme realm.

i get were your coming from as we are 'At War'
I unsterstand alot of people call it RP farming(which at higher levels it is)

But...This is kind of Lowbie dueling, not meny rps will be gained, not enough to make a difference, and alot of fun would be had(unless some archer thinks 50 Grays 50 rps!!! woot).
