Just been watching a dvd of disney's "the rescuers" (little mice who go to rescue an orphan) and that was ok but at the end of the DVD was some bonus material and there was a True Adventure Featurette! probably from the 1950s-60s called Water Birds, I have to say if you get the chance to rent the dvd of the rescuers watch the featurette! sod the film this is 100 times better.
It has some lovely footage of birds doing courtship dances to music (i assume the music was added after and not that the birds were actually dancing to it lol) and the classic commentary (you know the sort, stiff upper lip narration like in the old goofy cartoons) it was so nice to watch rather than some wildlife documentaries now where you see more footage of the presenter than the animals.
There was a really cute little water bird that didnt swim or wade it just walked about on the bottom of the river and i cant recall what it was called but i dont believe we get them in england.
Any hoo just thought i'd bring it to your attention, I know a few of you have kids...and a few of you are kids so you might have the dvd (or the opportunity to rent it)
