Any of you lot play the lottery online? Curious to know what you think of the new National Lottery site. (NB. I don't work for the UK lottery but I am interested in the site for professional reasons).

Did you look at it on desktop or mobile? Curious because its a "mobile first" responsive design, but sometimes that comes at the expense of the desktop version.

NB. The reason your details expire is regulatory. All online lotteries around the world have nerfed registration and login persistence.

Because you have six months to claim? Say you had a three number win, the odds of the site saying "you might have won something" would go through the roof if it was looking for all the numbers in the last six months that might have come up. And then if you said "you might have won something", then you put in the actual date on the ticket in and you haven't won, imagine the moaning and groaning about that? NB. There are two fixes for your specific issue; one is to play online and then you just get an email if you've won, the other... we're working on it over here but I don't know if the UK are. Other lotteries in Europe have it, but I can't say any more.

I believe that kind of issue is one of the reasons they're changing it later this year. In a small country like Ireland shared winners for the main jackpot are relatively rare; but quite common in the UK.

But it'd be quicker just for a website to say "some numbers won on these dates, click to see more". Then I could go month, week, day, whatever. But the old way, of manually having to select a range of dates, was time consuming and bollocks.

Not to mention that I had to click each little number "window" when entering my numbers, rather than just typing the numbers and having the cursor move across for me (as good websites do).

In fact, to save all that bollocks, why can't I just scan a barcode on the ticket, with an app on my phone, and have it tell me I've won?

Hardly use it now, the price is a bit naff now along with the winnings, i've stuck with Health Lottery and Postcode Lottery, you don't win mega bucks (Least i don't...) but at least it's cheaper and you win more often on it.
