I'm alone, stranded in the woods (funny, I had 6 men with me at the end of the last mission) Either I'm a dyslexic cripple, or my map and compass don't work. Any advice?

there are loads of ways to do this mission, the best way is to lay down and wait. Turn the speed up and wait for it to rain, visability becomes poor and you can run between forests. Don't go to the first evac point as it gets overrun straight away.
Another way is to head East back to the town with the funny name (the one you just escaped from) and steal a car then drive to the 2nd evac point. This method requires a lot of luck though as you can get shot be either the tank or patrols.

I just ran a long way and didnt see a single enemy. Start off in the opposite direction and go aroud the top of the red circle marked on the map. Run around and head off left (on map) and head for the nearest big forest. Run through this forest and cross the road heading down towards the next woods. Just keep going until you reach he second evac point

Nah, what to do is head for the nearest village, steal a trabant (or the tractor), and calmly drive towards the evac. Get out (trabants don't work very well off-road, i was felling real queasy), and sprint to the evac.
