Ok this is a weird problem...

I`ve got a pretty fat 16 MBit connection, DSL cable modem etc. It´s running 100% stable, I can surf, play, download all day long with no problems. However, whenever I´m leaving my computer idle for a couple of hours, I´m losing my internet connection i.e. I can´t open any websites, Firefox always times out.
Even if I`m still downloading stuff via torrent, the download remains active and running, but I can´t open websites!
Any ideas? Is this a FF setting or something? (OS is Windows XP SP2)

do your downloads progress or stall when this happens ?

there are timeout settings, but those would affect all traffic, not just a few.

see if you can ping a website when you cant open a website it might be DNS which would explain why the torrents which are already open stay working.

Yes, that´s the weird thing. All downloads are still fully intact. Just anything else is fooked up.

Check make sure ur LAN card hasn't got a power down turned on after going idle for a time Thor. Its in your device manager.
