Looking for someone.

Does anyone know of any good online people searches? I have a friend who is desperately trying to get in touch with someone he hasn't seen in over 10 years. He knows her name, her mother's maiden name, and that she's in either Manchester or Liverpool (maybe). I really don't know where to start (other than trawling through phone directories and searching with ICQ, etc), so any pointers would be much appreciated.

Already thought of that cama, but he doesn't know what school she went to over here (they knew each other in Germany and haven't spoken since before they both moved to England).

AFAIK you can search by name, you don't need the school, but you must be registered (I think it costs £5).

If you want I can check, my wife registered a while back to find some of her old friends, but I'll need to look up her password etc.

Okay I just checked, you can do a name search but you need a first initial or forename and a surname. I also checked using both my wife's maiden name and married name and it works on that, so as long as the person you are looking for has registered, and has registered the correct details, you may find them. I suppose it has got to be a fairly uncommon name otherwise you'll be getting a lot of results.

Get hold of / find someone who has a copy of 'UK Infodisk' - you can search the electoral roll/ telephone, and all business stuff. (Its what our local private-eye uses)
