Building system...are specs good

I am building a system and just wanted to see if there was any problems with anything that im getting...compatibilty and such.

MOBO: Asus P4S8X SiS 648 P4 (533FSB) Skt478 DDR ATX Motherboard w/Audio, LAN, SATA, RAID Retail

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Processor (Northwood) 2.53GHz, 533MHz FSB, Socket 478 Retail

Memory: Crucial Technology 512MB DDR333 PC2700 Memory

DVD drive: Toshiba SD-M1712 16x/48 IDE DVD w/CyberLink PowerDVD 4.0 Software

CD/RW drive: TDK 52x/24x/48x

Video Card: ATI Radeon 9700 PRO AGP 8X 128MB DDR Video Card w/TV-Out & DVI by PowerColor

The reviews on the motherboard were great... www.motherboards.org to see one of them.

And even though the 9700 pro is powerd by ATI not built by ATI it doesnt seem to lose any performance as seen in the review of the powercolor evil commando 2 http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=Mzcz
Sound card I will get soon after. Have to save up a little and probably buy an audigy 2 platinum.

Yeah its not bad but I would go for the Asus P4G8X Deluxe motherboard, although it costs more and is only just coming on to the market.

Get 2x 256 Memory rather than one 512.

If one is faulty you can test it. If you only have one in the first place though then you "just don't know" whether the RAM is bad or not.

well id take that advice shovel but im planning on getting another 512 within a month. And ill look at the P4G8X.

Hmmmm.....I like everything about thar motherboard except that it only accepts up to pc 2100 DDR. Other than im not sure what the Dual Channel Memory does exactly. Would the dual channel memory still be effective with only one 512 or would I have to get 2 256?

I am looking for a good motherboard. Right now im looking at the ASUS P4S8X. I want the latest features. Other than I dont care to much about Hyper-threading just because it calls for the 3 GHz which I cant afford. Im looking at an Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Processor (Northwood) 2.53GHz, 533MHz FSB, Socket 478. I want the motherboard to have the AGP 8x. So that the ati radeon 9700 pro I am purchasing will run with it.

Is the 8inxp out yet or the P4G8X Deluxe or for that matter are any of the motherboards with the Granite Bay chipsets out yet or have any of them announced a release date.

Has anyone had any problems with the ASUS P4S8X with pc 2700 crucial 512 Mb ddr memory and/or the radeon 9700 pro.

They are only just arriving on the market with places like dabs.com stating "Long Lead Time" which is about a month, min.

Gigabyte have an all singing, all dancing mobo, it's the GA-8SG677.

It supports AGP x8, DDR400, 533FSB, SKT 478.
