looking for mechwarrior type games...

after playing MW to death i'm itching for some other bigass multigun robot game ala MW. anyone know of a fairly recent (2000 and up) release of one or did m$ manage to get the entire concept trademarked? preferably one thats available in digital download format.

all i can find are 1990:ish games that requite dosbox, but i want pretty:ish grafics to :<

yeah i saw it. problem is that i dont own crysis and dont feel like buying it just to be able to play a mod

and as i would never actually play crysis it would be the same as paying for the mod.

as i understand it (*) :

MS wanted to do consoley things with it, so stopped doing any PCy things
didnt happen
disappeared without trace
its a mini adventure

its an oddity cos its a very popular series, but afaik its essentially dead

according to wiki it appeared on DS in some form. the crysis mod has also been OKd by the MS lawyers so that implies they : a) dont mind b) arent planning anything it might take the limelight from

doesent get away from the fact that i'd have to buy 1 game to play a totally different one

one thats free none the less

besides. that mod doesent seem to be anywhere near being released. atleast not in a enjoyable state.

Mod is shaping up well, but as for an official release I dont think it will happen for the time being. MS made mechwarrior for the xbox and have no plans for a 360 version, though if I could get hold of steel battlion with the huge controller I would be happy. Mechwarrior 4 was a good game, the only thing that is close on the PC is the Mechs in BF2142 and here is wiki list of games involving mechs if that helps?

yeah i'v been on that wiki, but most of them are either for consoles or mid 1990 games :/

guess i could go find me a cheapass xbox and get the MW game for that. could probably get both for next to nothing now.

I have been play Lore recently as in I found it yesterday lol. One of the games it has is a Mech game and you can customise your mech.
