Cba to make one and I want to update my paladins template.

I've helped people with templates on here a fair bit :p time to help uncle omen out now.

Must haves:

Weaponless
Scalars
ML10 Chest Piece
101 str
95+ con
60+ qui
380+ hits
+11 all weapon
+11 parry
Melee resists 25+
Magic resists capped (except energy, matter, spirit - can have those around 20-22%)
30+ AF
10% speed
10% m. damage
10% s. damage

Don't care about:

Heal bonus

Dex - can cap parry without any

Winged Helm (for its uptime its way overrated)

Shades of Mist (if you can get it in fine but don't go out of your way to do so, I can live with ML10 cloak)

Keep the s/s slots free as I intend on using BR / CoS.

Edit: or maybe not, no dragon ring resists or scalars :< low proc chance sure but a plate user with scalars + warguard up is near unkillable.

You'll want +heal bonus, and +buff bonus... get that AF over 1000 for sure.

I'm glad someone brought up + healing effectiveness actually as it seems most people don't realise how pointless it is (unless you can 100% guarantee you wont meet someone that can chain disease you at will) or you can obtain 26% to all resists without sacrificing any survivability toys.

I can explain why its pointless if you want ;) it really doesnt matter if I do or not tho because most people will blindly disagree and continue doing it anyway.

Thats the only screenshot you need to look at when determining healing bonus on solo characters, first heal proc is full value with no diseases on my warden who has 25% healing effectiveness, second is while diseased (thats a 200 delve heal proc from the dragon chest piece) slayer parts are as you can imagine pathetic in comparison.

You lose so much when diseased it becomes utterly worthless considering what you've sacrificed to get that 20-25% bonus (resist holes being a prime example)

Lets say for the sake of the arguement you sacrifice 7% matter (or a crucial toy that may reduce damage alot like the dragon rings/bracers resists) for 20% healing bonus, seems worth it to some extent and rather tempting yes? now think about how much extra damage you're taking per swing from someone using matter legendaries and weigh that against what the 2x% bonus is adding to your 130 delve heals per proc while diseased, I guarantee you it'll be more damage incoming than those heal bonuses are adding when diseased.

Considering every single soloer you'll meet has disease (from the CL line and from weapon/shield/poisons/pets) that +healing becomes 100x less attractive and is why I favour toys + resists over healing effectiveness.

Dont disreguard the +Buff on pally tho, depending on how you want to do it... Can use stardrop to swap out for buffs, or template some +buff in there.

Oh wow, I used to use icy rock when it affected slam duration, but when they changed that I stopped. Nifty.

25% heal bonus is a must =)

you shouldnt rely on 25% heal bonus so much Dverg, not considering how useless it is vs disease.

But not very often you get a disease on you neway... In 1v1 i barely have disease on me...

Silly people for not diseasing on sight then :p its probably the most underrated 1v1 tool now with all the heal procs. The HoT chest piece is nice tho as disease does not effect Hot's.

But you can keep them from doing it too with the insta taunt...
Sure i am using it in every 1v1, but people are smart enough to drop some insta shit on you so you wont be able to.

Taunt has a 20 second cooldown and the only people you'll meet solo that don't have a guaranteed disease chance on you is Thanes, Valks, Champs, Maulers, Wardens, Savages, Zerkers out of the meleers.

Every other class you see soloing can disease you in either melee or after a stun.

Hero can slam you and disease
Warrior can slam you and disease
Skald can Zephyr you and disease
Sb's can put disease on weapons
Ns's can put disease on weapons
Hunters pets have disease
Vw's have an offensive disease proc
Vamps can use fang
Bm's can use fang

etc

doesnt matter which way you spin it Dverg heal bonus is majorly flawed vs any form of disease.

When I used to play my rr9 valk solo on mordred all day I ran with cure disease charges on my boots ;)

aye, have cure disease charges on my warden aswell :p she also has scorpions tail for cure poison + cure disease, nice ring for what it does but utter shit utility.

Not many dps melee classes will alam and then disease with cl disease

its the first thing i'd do vs a pala/arms/reaver because you dont know if it has friar heal proc on or not... cant say i'd like to fight a paladin with 20-25% heal bonus + friar heal proc + slayer parts, especially since it has a higher proc chance than a clerics heal proc.

Templates are still a matter of personal preferences too... If i can get any heal bonus on my temps in any possible way without losing important stats i would do it.

agree with that, where i think heal bonus is a pointless thing you obviously think it is not thus we'll never agree on whats what.
