I understand that innferno but at least one of the people reading these boards most likely have family and friends at war and they don't even know if they are alive.. that movie is making a mockery of the war and the reasons behind it.
Atrox how do they or you know what Bush's reason for bombing iraq is? and comments like 'so true' get to me as they have no idea and seem to think they know more than the government posting the link was an insensitive stupid thing to do imo

Yes, one of those people is me as I have a close friend over there at the moment. It is not making a mockery of war itself but yes, the reasons behind it.

we have a very good idea what their reasons for going to war are. There is as much in what is not said as in what is. There is a distinct reason why they didn't get the support of the UN and that is because they have no proof of 'weapons of mass destruction'.
Is Saddam a tyrant? yes indeed. Has he murdered his own people? yes indeed. Does he deserve to be removed? yes indeed. Is it George Bush's god given right to do so? not at all.
You can argue that he is using 'pre-emptive non-aggression' but then why has he never used it against North Korea, Syria, Indonesia, Zimbabwe or any of the other places that commit such atrocities?
Do you truely believe in your heart of hearts that this war is justified? Do you believe that there are many reasons outside of American political and economic gains for doing what they are doing? If so please enlighten us.

Of course there are. Western world having their hands on gulf oil supplies are not only of interest to a couple of fat american millionaires. Its in interest of all of us. Europe as well as america.
Simple matter is, we'll all be in trouble if yankees pull out their troops from the area, local towelheads find it great time to finally get rid of Israel and jews being as they are will start to nuke all the neighborhood to kingdom come in self-defence.
So yes, political and economic reason, but no way only of USA. Is what they're doing there going to work on the long run, is another matter entirely. Time will tell. Lacking sufficient number of aircraft carriers to back up our arguments, best we can do is to maintain our sense of humor.
