Cordless mice have been kicking round for a while now and I've never personally wanted to get one because of the need to replace batteries in the mouse and the poor performance in gaming due to power saving features which tended to produce movement lag.
I had heard good things about the Logitech MX700 and in terms of specs it seemed to have it all taken care of, but how does it really perform.
Ooer a pretty box, a mouse can only be sold on box looks alone to stupid people
The contents includes:
Logitech® MX™700 Cordless Optical Mouse
Receiver/charging base
2 AA NiMH rechargeable batteries
AC adapter
USB to PS/2 adaptor
MouseWare® software
Documentation
I personally used USB to connect the receiver/charging base to my PC. The receiver/charging base is not powered off the USB socket as there isn't enough power for that, an AC adapter is required. The AC adapter plugs in to the top part of the USB plug which means only the one wire needs to come off the receiver/charging base and thus makes it look tidier.
The mouse itself is nice to hold with a one piece plastic top and rubber sides, all which gives the result of a nice looking mouse. The mouse doesn't quite feel right until you put in the batteries and it then feels perfectly weighted and solid.
In total the mouse has eight buttons and scroll wheel all of which seem well placed and can be reached without great movement of the hand.
