Little Help Please

Used to play on bw q3 ctf servers loads and loads a while back but switched to RA3 . Now I am able to play on all other servers apart from the bw ones.

For example I have the arena1 map and can play it on other servers but when I try to join bw servers it trys to download it again.

This applies to all maps.

I havnt done anything to the maps I have .. all are exactly the same as the day I downloaded the RA3 mod and I have even tried re-installing it.

Please can someone shed a little light on it.....

If it's the ctf servers you cant get on, make sure you have OSP and the 3w mod. The old 3w maps have been replaced by the ones in the new mod, e.g. q3wctf1 is now 3w3, etc, etc.
If it's RA3 that's the problem, it could be the CPMA mod you are missing, but could also be solved by doing the following at console when you connect .....

/cl_allowdownload 0
/reconnect

as I have also had problems in the past with bw ra3 servers trying to download me maps I already have, or even maps on the server which are not even in the map cycle.
If it is CPMA that's the problem, I think you have to copy the ra3 map files to the cpma directory, but you can read the client readme file to be sure of what you need to do with the most recent version.

Obviously make sure you are on the most recent q3 and ra3 point releases too.

Thnks for that ... it turned out to be the /cl_allowdownload 0 which was the problem.

If it hadnt been so late last night when i was trying to get on then I would have noticed the big bit of text at the bottom of the server connect splash screen telling me to do that .
