little explanation of rules required

(lifted from the rules section)
The following are not allowed:

Excessive/Abusive use of the kill/revive tactic - This is when a player dies and gets revived by the medic. Players may use this tactic but it is to be used in a sensible and sporting manner. Meaning, using it in a modest manner to help out team mates on front line. Using it by constantly killing/reviving to hold a tactical advantage over the opponent will be considered cheating and action will be taken by the admin accordingly.

Can someone explain to me what this means? Do they (whoever "they" are) think that reviving someone is cheating, or unfair? Before I get involved with a clan i'd like to know what this means. :)

i'm not having a go, I just want it on simpler terms (and a better explanation than "constantly killing/reviving to hold a tactical advantage over the opponent will be considered cheating")

Thanks

A kill/revive is when a member of your own team tk's you, because it would be more economical to inject you back to life than to keep pumping aid kits into you.

For example: If I was on your team and you had only a little bit of health left, And I was a medic and had other people to cure, It would be more economical to shoot you down and inject you back to life than to keep feeding you aid kits as i can only distribute a certain amount, in a given time.

Its only considered cheating it its used excessivly.
The definition of excessive is down to the descretion of the admin.

Me personally, I dont mind both teams doing it a little, but if one team is doing it lots, and the other isnt, then Ill say summit about it.

ahh :) righto thanks. I was a bit fecked as to why using the revive feature was frowned upon, but I guess if its used in this way it would probably get on some player's nerves.

Quite an ingenius method though :)

thanks for the explanation, m8

it used to be more against the abusing of the bug which gave people a full bar for like the panzer after getting revived, like in someone shoots a panzer, med kills and revives him, he fires another panzer, which would make 2 panzers in like 4 seconds
but that bug got removed, so it's not much of a prob anymore

really because of the reason the rule was introduced (the panza nd lt recharge bugs) which now no longer exist, the rule is null and void as far as i know, and as such imo should be removed, as keeping it in causes confusion. Could an admin please confirm this point, or is kill/revive still very fround upon if done excessivly. If not i think the rule should be removed, as this isnt the first time someone has asked this question after the bugs have been removed

that rule needs updating. it was created when the original patch came out, which gave revived characters a full energy bar, so you could say, get a panzer overlooking the coffin on castle, use his shot, kill revive, use another. Or the same with a lieutenants airstrikes. The first patch removed this.

As a player who is usually a medic, I use it if needed and think nothing of it.
