Greetings, fellow people of Midgard.
It has come to my attention that the list business at H / lair has become more than a nuisance nowadays.
What really caught my attention was a separate Shadowblade list. Not being a Shadowblade myself, I can't stop to wonder what the whole point behind this is. Back in Shanae's days we had separate lists for healer/shammies, casters ( mainly PBT runies ), and tanks. ( call them a meat wall if you like.
), having a separate list for each and every class just doesn't make any sense.
Also, quite a few fellow Midgardians has sighed over being something like number seventeen on the list. With all due respect, those numbers could easily make another camp from the side of H or lair.
The main problem with this is the fact that there simply are no other listkeepers around to make another camp. My suggestion to solve this is that if you are part of the meat wall list ( Shadowblade, Hunter, Warrior, Thane, Berserker, Skald ) and find that you're put to list, ask the current listkeeper to be placed as secondary listkeeper.
When people ask the current listkeeper for a spot, and his camp is full, with all spots having atleast one backup ( Mender/Fender mainly ), they're shuffled over to the other listkeeper.
Example:
Person A, a proud Thane, asks person B who is listkeeper at H.
Person B replies that person C is listkeeper.
Person A then contacts person C and says:
"Person A, lvl 40 thane, looking for spot at H."
Person C, which has a full camp, with 1-2 backups for the meat wall replies:
"Sorry, our camp is full. I've added you to the list, but contact person D for their list as well."
Person A contacts person D with same information as he did with person C.
Person D replies, if space available: "Sure, you're in". Should camp spot 2 lack a certain member ( Mender/Fender, or not enough Meat Wallers ), they add ", but we need a [insert class here] before we can start."
If person A joins person D, they should contact person C and let them know that they are no longer interested in being on camp spot 1's list, in order to keep the updating fluid.
This suggestion would have many benefits as I see it ( otherwise I would not post it, now would I?
)
1. Less waiting on list, more action and faster leveling.
2. More controllable lists, too many people on lists makes handling lists a major pain.
3. With the chance of getting a spot more easily, more people would go to H / Lair, instead of spots like [insert semi-good spot here], which in turn would result in never having a lack of a certain class.
The reason for posting this is twofold:
One, my dear Spiritmaster, Whisperess, is getting near H-level ( 36 at the moment ) and would appreciate a streamlined leveling to 50.
Two, it pains me to see a lot of fellow Midgardians at the brink of giving up when reaching the late 30's / early 40's. We need more people defending our realm / invading other realms. Sure, it is doable even at lower levels, but more revarding at level 50.
This suggestion may have flaws I have not thought about, but I would be happy to try to find a way to deal with these issues.
( instead of just saying: this won't work - come with proper explanations why, and a way to solve those issues ).
Let's work together and make the final stages a pleasant and enjoyable experience for all.
Best of regards,
