Linux access problem

Right well after an hour or so of trying i managed to get RH 9 to pick up me Built in shuttle Nic

Anyway now i have assigned it the static ips i have got for me network and the dns, but while i can access the other comps on the network it wont let me either ping me router or get to the router setup webpage. Obviously this stops outside browsing.

All the other comps can access the router , ping it and have normal internet access.

Any ideas?

wow, that's strange. it almost seems like you're in a different subnet. if you are in a different 'net you'll have to add a route to the router.

something like route add default <router's IP> should do it.

LOL Nm i managed to sort it thx fo rut help

I did

route add default gateway 10.0.0.1 eth0

that did the trick
