Starting daoc again, it seems my patience is being used again...
I keep going LD every 2 minutes after login... can't explain it
I have a stable connection whatsoever...

no idea whats going on, it's a clean windows install
AMD 4400+ X2 <- latest nvidia nforce drivers (6.86)
SLI 7800GTX 512 (x2) <- latest nvidia forceware drivers (93.71)
4gb of OCZ Gold lats (2x dual ddr kits) (standard timings)
verry good PSU (OCZ PSU)
running on a 100/1000 router in my room, comming STRAIGHT in is my internet on the onboard lan !

cable connection is very stable so I don't understand how this happens, I played wow for hours and never get that... is there something I should know of :(

help, I do think it's a computer-related problem and not so a cable related problem

What does a pingplot to the server show ?

That usually pinpoints the part of the network that is failing, if it's a network issue.

...Maybe this is the reason: your machine is full of worms, viruses, spyware etc. crap. You machine is getting hammered all the time by bots and therefore your traffic gets jammed...

Having computer with no protection at all connected STRAIGHT to the internet... Well, IMO it's like going out to the dark alleys in the middle of the night, when there's members of local Hells Angels chilling out and saying to them: "Heyyy, I think you guys are very, VERY ugly and so are your bikes too!"

When you're asking for trouble, you're most likely to get them.

Go and buy the WinXP licence, it really is not that expensive. And go download some sort of firewall. There's plenty of free firewalls available.

I've had the same problem for the last 6 months - 1 year.
Which ISP do you use?
I'm on talktalk and i hear that they block counterstrike and other games as well as p2p ports during the day.
I'm guessing thats why I get constant lag when i log in game and ld everytime within the first 10 minutes without fail.

Try a viruscan and get some free virus protection stuff. Avast! for example.

Bleam.

nforce mobos have some settings that severly impact upon your network connections. Many people have had ld problems with nforce boards.

- Right click my computer then click properties
- Go to the hardware tab
- Click the device manager button.
- Expand the network adapters option
- Double-click on your network card.
- Open the advanced tab
- Look in the Property list for an option named "Checksum Offload" (or something similar).
- Select this option and change the value to 'Disabled' then click OK
- Restart the computer

p.s. if you managed to install a cracked winXP there is no reason why you shouldnt have sp2 and all the latest updates...

I have had the same LD problems on my 2nd account, when running Visual Route ( recommended by the FAQ on Chronicls of Cam Customer support site ) it shows the part of the network failing for my connection is the open transit connection. my question is before the server maint that happened last week i had no problems running both my accounts, no LDs and no lag. Since the server maint the problems have appeared so what else have they done apart from change the servers IP address???

I never used to use a firewall, i used to scan my PC like once every year for viruses. I had this exact problem, i scanned it thoroughly(sp?) for viruses, adaware and all sorts of internet scum. It fixed it.

I'm also (still) running with a Gforce 400 MX (Gforce 2) graphics card, i used to use 256kb/s internet, now on 1mb.
