Like playing an armsman is so much fun :p. I would prefer playing my sorcerer in any situation...Shame I put 1 year of effort leveling my armsman to 50, discovering I could better start with a mercenary :(

The warrior looks like the initial class Mythic created in this game and shaped all others around. They are very well balanced "as is" but they also lack the kind of spice that make other classes stand out, at the moment they are the figher class of D&D in this game, dull in a sense. That is what the initial poster in that thread is after I think. However, you can keep yourself very busyd if you use one hand weapon/shield, 2hander with positional styles, engage and guard actively in battles :)

You can't compare DAoC and D&D really. And to say that fighter class in D&D are boring is just plain silly imo. There are loads of feats to chose from, take monkey grip for example (makes you use large weapon in one hand and suffer a -2 on attack roll) that was one of the issues they agreed would make DAoC warrios more fun, so wouldn't that make fighter in D&D fun? And have you read "book of exalted deeds" or "complet warrior" which can make your fighter very fun and not just the hit and take dmg guy.

To compare a fighter (D&D) and a warrior (DAoC) which is not very similar imo is just silly. And to compare a RPG like D&D with a MMORPG like DAoC is not much better, cause sure there are some similarities but there are way more things not similar at all.

Don't see anything wrong with the post. I agree shield tanks need some kind of love. Now with light tanks getting bodyguard we're going to be slightly left out.

Bodyguard is a waste for a light tank tbh. It roots you to the spot so no chaseing down Support classes ie your job, plus 50 shield rather than 27 parry you gonna last longer allowing your bodyguard target to Nuke/heal etc.

But i agree solid class but can lack "fun" factor after 50 lvl's ;)

isnt there already a ToA thing that turns you into a werewolf?

"A: First I’d better clarify the subject of the question. The Maddening Scalars artifact has a level five ability, “Unending Vengeance.” It was a reactive proc that reflected damage back to the enemy. The artifact’s level ten ability is called “Maddening Aura,” and its proc turns you into a werewolf. When you are a werewolf, you have a chance to proc onto your enemy an effect called “Frothing Wound,” which is a disease based DOT"

from grab bag a while ago :p

Warroirs are solid, give them something like Heros moose mode and you would have to do same for Armsmen. At least Warroirs don't have to double spec.

Zebolt, you missed the point. You include the spice that was added to the fighter class in later versions of the game. Backtrack and you see the solid class just like the warrior is in Doac and sans spice. That is the comparison you should make. Besides Doac is built on the D&D gameplay ideas so your "silly" remark is quite silly ;)

Daoc built on D&D gameplay idea??? i think not the closest we come to a game based on D&D is Baldur gate and Neverwinter Nights. i would like u to point out where Daoc is built on D&D gameplay, i can point alot of thing where it aint :)
for the first how u build u char is very difrent from D&D (rolling with dices to decide u stat :) ), D&D is turn based whice Daoc difently not is, race means alot more then in Daoc as u get some benefits from eaxh race, casters can only cast a max number of spells per day and r limit to choice a x number of all there spell they want to cast, the whole xp syste is difrent and alot more so daoc r not even close to be built on D&D
