Lighten up imps :)

The imps really seem to be brainwashed completely by the emperor on farstar. Im a rebel and the only social response i get from talking to an imperial is to hand my self in to the authorities (apart from gabriel who i respect for not causing any fights in my city when declared)

all i want to say is lighten up imperials :) its just a game

It is a *roleplaying* game :) Kudos to the players who appreciate this.

i sometimes roleplay an imp, most of the time i just go around as a normal friendly person. i found rebels are more unfreindly than imps though ;)

I have positive faction for both sides so can change sides every hour if i so wish so ive experianced both sides of everything and i also would say 'generally' rebels have more 'tards.

Had a cracking moment last night on Chimaera in Mos Espa :)

I was by the noobie training points /mood happy, helper flag on being cheerful, giving advice, a few start-up weapons and training.

All in my Imperial officers Uniform.

Now some guy thanks me and I say "Certainly citizen! As an imperial officer its my job to help the citizens of the empire!"

To which he replies "But I thought the Imperial were the bad guys?"

"Well thats just what the rebel propaganda wants you to think. These terrorists blow up civilians, destroy offices and factories YOU work at. They destroy interstellar trade and increase the amount of policing innocent civilians like yourself have to put up with.

The Empire has HAD to increase military spending and the presence everywhere to fight the galactic war against terror and the least we can do is maintain normal civil duties in this time of increased threat."

hehe

At this point some chimp comes running out of the starport and stabs me to death in the middle of the street, in front of all these witnesses! Imperial players, Stormtroopers and an AT-ST appear about 5 secs later so he runs and hides in the spaceport, waiting I think to get off planet again.

After waiting till we have a full SWAT team available we storm in, flush him onto the street where, to the general applaud of the crowd he is gunned down!

Things weren't improved when he comes back screaming abuse about being "pussies" and "fuk tards" <cough>

I think I recruited a few more guardsmen that day, all the imperials need are some good media consultants and wider control off CNN :p

Let's not have an off-topic political argument where opinions are regurgitated from popular tabloids.

I agree with Ebonn; having been on both sides (and currently having positive faction with both), the Rebels seem a bit more... young/l33t.

there is a rebel called helt on farstar, and one called harlequin. they are the biggest bastards ive met in game. they are using some kind of cheat to knock down from about 500m away.

what right do you have to comment on how much other people play? they could say the same for people who dont play much at all.

i ran into helt in bestine, getting slain while loading is annoying but my fault for traveling overt. I watched him running about spamming his TKM knockdown and cried at the noobie imps that tried /prone; /headshot1 :p

i kited him to the imp outpost, he ran up the hill after me shouting "run g'imp" then he tried to burst away as 10 imps + ATST's chased him away :)

To be honest, I do like roleplaying in this game, more so in any other mmorpg I've ever played.

I even have a backstory where at some point in my chars future I can have a motivating factor to change sides.

But I'm no RP nazi either, as frankly after playing for 12 hours straight I forget to do so :D

I was a rebel but you are true, most of them seem to be kids and are hard to get to do things right, im not saying they are all kids. Then theres the imperials, far more organized and im sure they populate more than 50% of the server and of course most of the imperials are the 24/7 types. Dont try and prove me wrong theres not many rebels in anchorhead and basically the master TKA/ master doctors own coronet now.

SO now im just gonna say i have started the slow ascend to get rid of the -5000 imp points and join the imperial because being a rebel is just not fun anymore.

but as i said i still think you take the whole role-playing too seriously also the whole 24/7 thing is a bit gay.

Since when has someone roleplaying a character from a star wars based era had any bearing on their sexual persuasion?

Goon!

Hehe - Me too. Whether I go through with the switch though, I dunno.

I had a lovely RP'ing session with a Twi'Lek musician on Moenia the other morning. Reaffirmed my faith in MMORPGS after the callous "power-players" of DAoC who are all about teh buffbot e.t.c. Be honest here... How many people have you seen RP'ing on a SWG server compared to a DAoC server?? In the year and a bit I played DAoC, I saw maybe 4, possibly 5 people making an attempt at RP'ing their character. Nobody else could be bothered :( Not so with SWG though :)

Is it me or are there like 50million imps on Chimera and about 20 rebels ?

I originally went imp so I could play with friends, but I'm very tempted to convert just to try and even up numbers.

hm seems like the rebs are outnumbered on europe servers. GREAT! just how it should be :)

and if the imperial are outnumbering the rebs and killing them all the time then all kiddo's will switch to the winning side :)

just to reply to someone who said the rebels are kids..

if you are ever planning on playing PvP then take all the graphics settings down to minimum so the framerate will be improved, otherwise it will always seem like they are hitting you from far away (which is impossible and there is no way of cheating on this game unless you abuse the many bugs)

you hit the nail on the head there. it is not just me it happens to,its happend to 4-5 people in my PA and been done by 2 different TKAs. its doesnt 'seem' like he is 500m away HE IS 500m away. i have all settings to minimum, they wont go any lower. he doesnt even show on radar till he closes in.

hmmm...

well the thing is KDing from 500m away is impossible so stop speaking a load of BS, i mean of course you cant see him if you fall down :p your visual range is only 256m :p so try and think these things through before you make up a load of crap about them. I seem to look like im being KD'd from a pretty big distance sometimes so if you mean 50m rather than 500m i think a shooting class has a KD shot and there must of been one grouped with them :p

Theres a heck of alot of replys on this thread about imperials getting together groups and AT-ST's just to kill one guy :p it just really proves that imperials are taking the big advantages they get out of having overwhelming numbers, it all sounds a bit lame to me but i guess you take the risk of that happening when you go overt as a rebel.
Also if you are getting pissed off with rebels killing you in cantinas we are equally pissed off if not more with the imperials who raid our cantinas also, it seems not many people have any decency yet.
