Last year I did 150 days of work. At an average £220 a day, thats not bad going, and affords me a nice standard of living. The trouble for me is that 30 of those days were on an F1 contract, and a further 15 were on the WRC, both jobs which, in the case of F1, won't be happening this year, and the WRC, is unlikely.
Add to this the fact that so far this year I've been working an average of 1 day per week, and you can understand why I only got 3hrs sleep today. Thats why I'm writing this now.
I've got myself some guaranteed work lined up so far this year, but only about 1/2 of what I had last year. Maybe some work on a feature film, but only if they get the budget together. Oh well, at least I can work on my house while its quiet.
I thank my stars I don't live in Madagascar or somewhere equally dreadful, but dammit I don't often have sleepless nights like tonight.
Its not like I'm going to lose my house or anything, my mortgage is only £6000 a year, and I can easily cover that, but I just wondered what the hell you guys with mortgages do in times like this, especially considering that with a staff job, you can be 'out' at any time?
