Leviathan (& co), is there an interrest?

Hey all,

Just writing to check if there is an interrest in on-going raids where Leviathan would be killed on both servers. Depending on how large the interrest is, other mobs could possibly be included.

Thinking of raids with a +modifier for each attending raid. FFA or possibly sign-up, if the mob can be done with lower numbers.

I am gonna look into how the mob could be done, if lower numbers are possible etc.

Code:
Droplist:
 Leviathan Heart
 Leviathan Ring of Defiance
 Leviathan Ring of the Deep
 Leviathan Skin Cloak
 Leviathan Tail Belt
 Leviathan Tooth Necklace

Please post any information about this mob here that could be usefull, and of course if you would be interrested in such raids. Also state what type of raid you would prefer:

FFA, with modifier or
Sign-up with modifier or
A fixed setup, desired item is stated - all loot kept by me till everyone get what they want. - left-over items, to be lottoed out.

Alternative two and (especially) three, would require that the mob can be done with lower numbers.

Lets see if we can get something rolling!

Think you would be able to take it out with 2 fgs, so signup with modifier would be my vote :)

I dont think thanes and valks would be any use though...

Patch 1.76
Oceanus Encounters
- Kraken and Leviathan will no longer suffer defensive penalties when in combat with a large number of attackers.

It was to stop pet spammers but I guess it will affect than/valk ability too depending on how the ability is coded?

Worth a test. :)

I would be up for a sign up + modifier. So you can just roll at need and your effort gets rewarded. Id bring my thane or if the test shows no gain, my healer perhaps! ;)

Will keep this thread alive for a 2-3 more days, just to see the general interrest, will repost with more information after that.

Looking good so far though! :)

EDIT: Will probably try a 2-FG setup at first, comment on this please! :)
EDIT2: a little fairy told me that CoTS's work on this mob - so will include a few thanes/valkyries in the first run.

Evul edit button is gone :(...

Well thinking of this setup:

2x
1. Thane/Valk,
2. Thane/Valk,
3. Zerker/Savage,
4. Damage dealer,
5. Supp SM,
6. Aughealer(44 aug),
7. Pachealer(p/m, m/p),
8. Shaman

Supp sm usefull for the little annoying parasites he spawns. Not sure if shaman is needed in grp - but since he zephyres whenever he pleases, it might be good. The zephyre spell he does, sends everyone around him away (is it everyone?).

Might of course be enough with one supp sm.... shamans outside grp etc... give more replies! :)

It seems like sign-up with modifier is the type that will be used. How does random 100 rolls sound, and +10 modifier per raid?

I know alot have people have asked for a sign up with a modifier but have you actually considered how that would work? For example if there are 50 people wanting to come on the raid each week, who do you pick? What happens if you come a few times build up a nice mod but then don't get picked again? If there is only going to be 20 people turning up anyway is it really necessary to go through the whole signup process each week? Just do a FFA with mod imo.

I also think you are seriously underestimating the strenght of Leviathan. I am sure once he has been killed 20+ times you will know what he does and be able to kill him with around 2fg but until then I would recommend alot more people and more healers, remember the parasites + FZ put them in combat and if he is hitting for 900+ a time your healers will be working hard. Of course if you manage to kill him with the healers standing on the shoreline (out of agro range) then thats excellent but I here he sometimes does strange things if you try that.

Anyway goodluck.

There will be a sign-up process, because I want to know what classes that come, who is comming, and if we are enough. I am however uncertain of how the mods should work.

The first 1-2 times will be mostly experimental - to see what is needed.

----

Chr Thornhoj: Might be room for a warrior, either in the spot for damagedealer or thane/valk. Will however not take away the thanes/valks in the first try.

----

Keep the info comming,

Thanes and Valks don't have any effect on Leviathan and Kraken I'm afraid. You are of course still welcome to try if you like though ;)

I've done Kraken a few times, as far as I know they are both pretty much the same. 2fg was enough to kill Kraken - we wiped once on the 4 or so raids I went on, so I would think 2fg would be enough but maybe a few more to be safe.

Personally I'd consider having one of the groups with 2x warrior and supp RM, to control the aggro a bit better. But again you can try with several different setups of course :)

I'd love to come, of course :)
