Leveling from 20 to 40

With the new patch, I guess (or rather, hope) that many people will roll up some new level 20 alt and maybe return to exping the old fashioned way, with grouping and all. Now I'm wondering where you go these days in a full or nearly full group to move from 20 to 40. All I could come up with from the top of my head was

Catacombs
(for level 20ish)

Barrows
(for high 20 and up)

Darkness Falls
(for any level obviously, though I'm a bit at a loss which spots/mobs you can camp at what level/group-constellation)

Lyonesse
(pygmy goblins and Tanglers from mid 20 onwards, wasn't it?)
...

and that's about it.

So where else can you go, especially in the SI zones? Would be nice to explore some really new places for a change. Cheers for any input.

Agree with both of you, which is why I'm looking for different places to go for the time inbetween 20 and 40.

well, tanglers at lvl 25 would be a tad hard :p

With the enhanced RoGs in the frontier maybe more XPing will happen there.

It's been a while since I had to do the Lyonesse-thing so I kinda forgot how it was/is. Nobody know any nice spots in the SI zones?

SI

SI has loads of great places - a few are 100% camped by necros like Grey Ghosts but there are a few camps most do not know of.

The key to all of SI is to move around from camp to camp getting full bonuses as most people are too damn lazy to shift their arses.

Some suggestions
-----------------------

- Drak Camps are great - near the Avalon Isle border with Isle of Glass (20 - 25 or so, less in a FG)

- Sea Hounds at the cost of Avalon Isle (22-24?)

- Grey Ghosts (3 camps near the Avalon Isle border)

- Apple Gatherers in the 7 orchards around AC for 30's

- Orcs

- The whole area around Caer Caddug for 34-38 in groups

- The area around the Tower Guardian near FT Gwyntell, good for 35+ (mind the two big boys). Even 30+ with the mobs on the roads

- The camp of Draks over the bridge nr Ft. Gwyntell - 44+ for the higher foe there

- Whole of Cadley is amazing hunting for 40+ ; would not move from there except for training.

- Loads of great hunting around Clifton for 45+ ; Liches give better training than AC as amazing camp bonus usually in place

- Krondon - under camped and has an over abundance of mobs with great re-pop rates ; both inside and out. Some faction implications

- The 3 Family Houses 40+ ?

Lol, yeah. When it was the cleric, most of the time it meant a certain dead, certainly at young ages when goblins were still all purple

If it was the CC... now that was exciting :)

gobbos where great before the nerf :(

i remember the first time we pulled them on pellinor-
Brytac the level 41 scout (Vayasen) hit one with critical shot...

We used to do insane things with them - we once had a tripple auto going with a smite cleric as crowd control, scout with 40 LB and 40 stealth and a 2 handed paladin as main tank...the good old days :p

SI is the only place to level now, better drops and the mobs to exp on are pritty close to eachother (ie after you finish one level the best mobs for the next level are close).

theres a mob in the Dales that you can pritty much auto on, not sure on the name but its some kind of scavenger that walks around with 2 contraptions as pets. When you attack it the pets will come for you while the scavenger runs off, he will then creat more contraption and send them at you. After a while he will also join the fight but will still summon them untill killed. Have a Pally take his agro and engage him and you should have a long supply of mobs with group bonus to kill. You also get a nice load of cash as well.

Con Green to L50 so maybe around L30-35.

And auto'ing Trees <sighs at the memory>

Tree Camps #1, #2, #3. Happy days there - Theurgist and Minstrel providing the BEST crowd-control ever <blows of top of staff>

Try asking new generations of peeps to go to tree camp #3 <grin>. Still good training as they re-pop fast.

We tried (my guild) trees some months ago - DF wasn't ours, and not all of us got SI by that time. We were 5 - 3 lvl 50, 1 lvl 44, 1 lvl 39 (varied camp 1-2 for better xp), tho xp wasnt so good as in DF, as well as the money, but still got decent xp without any problem.

ps.: Not really had any dmg dealers, but good defense: lvl50 pally, 8 sec pbt theu, smiter, lvl 44 minstrel, lvl 39 air theu.

Ah. Good old trees.

Despite the boredom, I really had fun there looking back. Met some nice people, and was CC with my shield.

I was also in the same group Danyan when he dinged with Yussef and some other Paladin doing the healing. Heh. I even think Danyan went LD for a bit so we had no CC and healing but we kept going. Though I may be making that up, I can't remember that far back!
