Level clarification

Could anyone confirm that upon 1.71 arriving, dinging level 47 will give you level 48 for free? or is 46->47 the last free level achievable?

Sorry the patch notes are a bit confusing and I vaguely remember hearing that the first hypothesis was the case..

(assuming it's been a week since your last free level and you're not already 48)

By the time 1.71 gets here you could probably get 50 if you just solo'd yellows or got a group

Solo'ong yellow's is as boring as crafting imo

you only get 1 free lvl a week if you have gained 1 lvl during that week, and if you ding 47 you dont get free xp to 48 cuz free lvls are only untill lvl 47 in underpopulated realms it can be less then a week to get 1 more free lvl...

Nope, means that you on release day login, kill 1 mob and get lvl 43.
Exactly 1 week later you log in again and talk to your trainer and you get a free lvl 44.
Then you xp and gain lvl 45. Then 7 days (or more) after you got your free lvl 44 you can talk to your trainer again and get a free lvl 46.

An important thing to note is that no one will get any free levels until 7 days after 1.71 go live.

the timer starts the first time you log your char in after the patch, so on release you are 42.99999

if you kill one mob you'll get a free level in 7 days from your first login (so you could login, logout, wait 7 days, kill monster, ding twice )

the amount of XP you get is set at the time of the popup window saying "free level!"

e.g. You login for the first time after the patch on thursday and ding 43. On friday and saturday you get enough xp for 44.

You then logout till the following thursday.

On your login you get a popup window that says "free level". This basically says "you have ABC billion xp in the bank" where ABC is the amount from 44->45.

If you go and collect it now you'll be level 45. If you continue xping (say you had a really really good AC group or you cba leaving modernagrav damned plers) and ding 45 normally then when you go to your trainer you'll only be about 45.6 (as you still have only ABC billions in the bank, which isn't enough to ding 45->46 on its own).

Now if you logged in on the thursday but didn't ding, and logged out till the following thursday you'd have no popup message. But if you went and killed your one monster to ding to 44 you would have a popup and the xp for 44->45 would be sitting on your trainer ready for you to collect.

What you say is true but im taking this character to LGM tailor skill and also am busy getting ML's and rps, irrespective of whether I do these before or after 50 they are going to take a relatively fixed amount of time. So i can spend time doing those and then get my level for free, rather than grinding and then doing the above.

Notice, you also get free coin though, I wonder how much that might be

This says when a player gains a level they will get a free level. It also says this occurs up untill level 47. It hence follows that when dinging 47 you will get 48 for free...

Not much. At higher levels its a few hundred gold. Just to cover stuff like con loss, armor/weapon repairing.

Nah, according to the FAQ darzil kindly posted, only one can be 'stored' at a time, and it is the first one earned during the 7 day period. And another 7 day period does not start untill the free level is used.

It isn't sure that it will be 7 days between each level thought, as far as I understanded it, it varies from how populated the realm is. So on Excalibur for example Hibernia will get thiere free levels with shorter day intervalls then Albion.

Curses! I was quite happy with the levelling thingy until I read that

I cleary need an int buff - but as I havn't got a bb, why does this occur:

Q: I leveled up from level 1 to 2 on June 8th (by getting experience), got the pop up, and used my free level, which took me from 2 to 3. I leveled up from 3 to 4, and then from 4 to 5 (by getting experience). On June 15th, or whatever the date is when I hit the 168 hour mark, how much experience will my free level award me?

A: The system will give you enough experience to go from 5 to 6, because it’s looking at the level you are at the exact 168 hour mark, counting from the moment when you used your previous freebie.

Why is it 5-6 and not enough for 4-5, which would take you to say 5.6?

I think this scenario is the same as follows:
I ding level 40 say. I then carry on and get to 41, then stop playing for 168 hours. Do I get enough xp to get to 42, or 41.6 ish?

i can confirm you DONT get ANY free xp from 47 onwards... once you ding 47 thats it!! no more... so you wont get a free lvl 48... sorry.

the key word is UPTO 47... you get free levels UPTO 47.. not beyond or including 47.

so if you ding 46 then you can free level to 47.. but if you ding 47 you WONT get any free xp.. this has been tested on us servers.

The way to get a "free level to 48" is to get a free lvl47 ding (by dinging 46 and waiting 7 days or whatever), BUT DONT USE IT! Until the very last moment, when you need 0.1 bub of lvl46 to ding 47. Then use the free level, and you'll have about 6-8 bubs (not sure how much) of xp INTO lvl 47, that is 2-4 bubs from 48.
