Why oh why did they choose to create a new bg maxxed at level 19 and a /level 20 command? Why not a /level 19 huh... :(

errrrrrrrrr... you can /level a character to 19 and stop there, it should be working like once when we had it on the test server for the BG event there, so if you want you can stop doing /level when you reach 19, or any other level between 1 and 20.

Nope, when you type /level you get enough xp for level 20, so when you try to port to the bgs, it won't let you in to aberwhatsit due to you being level 20 (even if your char says it's level 19 with full bubbles)

I thought that when you type /level you need to then right click the trainer 20 times? Or did I miss something?

If that is the case then you could simply click 19 times, go to Aber, take the keep with a bunch of people, cap your rps, go back to your trainer, /level and right click again to get to 20 and then go to the guy in your respective realm's capitol city and get to 21 with the Abermenai quest.

Might be wrong tho :)

Wibbler is correct when you use the /lvl20 command you cannot enter Aber, atleast that what i've read about in on Mythics page. There where some people abusing this in Aber when the released the patch on test server so they fixed it.

And yes you click on the trainer 20 times to gain all the lvls but you have xp for 20 lvls, so i guess its the xp cap that stops you from porting to Aber.

Mebbe worth a try, but if the safety lock on the exp is based on the amount of exp you have it wont work either...

it's because /level isn't intended to help with lvling BG alts, it's meant to allow the players with lvl50 characters (you want rvr action do it with them!! not in the BGs) to get to try other classes without going through the lower levels since at lower levels your character really has few abilities and they are really intended for easying a new player into the game , which is something an experienced player with an already lvl50 char doesn't really need again.

In my opinion /level will destroy the game. New players will only have other new players to group with and won't have the chance to learn how to play alongside more experienced players. There'll be occasional random newbs spread out across the starting locations while 99% of the server population will be 20+ with the majority of the 20-40s being alts in the process of aggressive powerlevelling.
And before anyone says it no I'm not bitter just cos I don't have a 50.

the lvl 20 command is imo another mythic way to try and keep game interesting for lvl 50 chars... another trick in the constant delay of a rvr workover

Totally agree, they are more interested in keeping its currant player base rather than getting new blood in to the game.

For example, I have only seen 1 advert for DAoC in the UK EVER and that was SI.

Pretty shit tbh, but all they are interested in is money.

on the other hand, they will have the chance to level and learn from their mistakes, without some level 50ies alt telling them what to do all the time, or swearing at them in /g for being newbies. this happens more often than not, a main reason for why I never tell anyone who my main is when playing a lowlevel char

the level command won't help sort out low population, it will just increase the number of characters on realms. I'm not gonna go play another realm on another server just beccause i can get a L20 there for free.

Just means you get to try out new classes more.

And as for BG0 um the BG are to help people get into RVR and if you have a level 50 i'm sure you can wait 4 levels so you can get your SC gear and own thoses peoples firsts ever characters.

the good side is the free equiptment you can get in the main city's its nice because every 1 can get it... iso basically you get a set of free lvl 20 armor and weapon when you are lvl'ing your first ever toon, and again at lvl 30... imo thats a nice thing as new ppl never have enough money to get a full set esp. as you need crafted or drop / DF eq. for lvl 30+

this ofc is unless you do the begger4tehwin!!1oneone! (begging a few days so you have 500g+ when you start lvl'ing)

but i agree it wont change the population much... ofc there might be a guild group or so moving to use the /lvl and get some xp group running on another server, then lvl to 50 and have some fun in RvR, but i dont think it will make any swich server permanently, because they will have all ther plats on the first 50 and know or are crafters themselves. i do however think we will get a lot of WTT <ammount in P> from <realm/server> to <realm/server> on the trade boards :p

so even people without L50s that didn't use the /level command to level up can get it?

From the official site
This being said, let's see how this command works :
As said above, you need to have at least one level 50 character on one of our servers. If you do, the first thing will be to log him or her in, in order to "flag" your account as owning a level 50 character. This done, you can create new characters (of any realm, on any server) and type the following command with your trainer targeted : /level 20.
A message will confirm you that you have earned the experience needed for level 20, and you can now start the "dinging frenzy" by right-clicking on your trainer. You may want to turn off spell effects while doing this, levelling too fast may cause your client to crash.

I love the last part about turning off your spell effects :p
