I wonder if a similar letter would get me out of the parking ticket I got this week.... I parked in a perfectly legal space, with no notice showing it to (apparently) be an urban clearway while 2 other cars were parked on double yellows in front of me and they had no tickets!

If there's no notice telling you you can't park there then, yes, I would definitely challenge it
