It appears Albs have claimed Leirvik BG keep and upgraded it.
Good luck defending it, I for one wont be attacking it (doubt many will) due to the amount of time it takes to bring one down with the crap siege they give us for BG's.
Hope your BP run out soon then I may return and hunt again.
bbye, have fun.

Actually a genuine question. It's the first time I have played RvR as I have only done PvE before, this is my fist character. I thought I would get mezzed or nuked or whatever in RvR but all I get is to do a really good impression of a pin-cushion. The place is full of them and little else! Is it because of the water?

The accuracy and rate of fire seems somewhat unrealistic for an archer compared to tank and they get to go invisible too and you can't stick to them in water!

Hope all the other RvR isn't like that.

RvR isnt much different, the water trick and tons of archers. Bg40-44 has more stuff to kill thats isnt in an uber group though. Pick your posion, i have and its the bg's hands down :)

I can understand that it must be daunting to come up against us (my scout is Quickshots, lvl 41). And dont worry, normal RvR is not 100% scout based. The only reason i can think of you getting arrowed all the time is because there are so many scouts and so little normal classes that you get outnumbered and and have about 4 or 5 shooting you at once. As for the rate of fire, Rapid Fire is something we get. It means we can shoot twice as fast but for less damage. Pretty snazzy for interupting peeps. And, if you are a pet class, stick you pet on us...even when we stealth..it will follow us, and catch us because we slow down in stealth.

And, not all of us take to the water the moment we get hit, some of us go toe to toe if need be. After you kill yourself a few of us scouts you will get the knack of causing us major trouble. Hope this dont put you off RvR though, cos it is different out there.

And, to the original poster of the thread..grow some balls, it got upgraded to give you a challenge. if you cant get a few mates together and try to take it...why whine in the first place??. At least give it a shot, you may surprise yourself.

Thanks for the flames.
I dont mind the challenge at all, I even go out into Odins to try and help with the retake of our own keeps there, and that is indeed challenging at lvl 42.

It aint easy getting enough of the 40>44 people together to take a lvl 1 keep let alone a lvl 10 one.

When the albs claimed CK in Morvlik and upgraded it to lvl 10 it took around 2fg of mids 3 hrs to eventually retake it, was worth it in the end (I think)

After thet I claimed the CK and had it on the way to lvl 10.
It reached lvl 9 when Albs tried a retake with around 2fg also, they gave up after 30 mins of hitting the walls, guess their balls dropped off at that point.

The next day I released the keep so as to at least give others a chance of taking the keep as not all people want to spend 2>3 hrs on a BG keep.

Thanks for the reply Heath. I'm a hib Champ and don't really have an answer to it. The water trick is just too good, can't even catch with snare, and stick doesn't work so it feels like a bug exploit to me, or at least a design flaw.

I figured the main problem was just not having enough players in for a rounded group, there is certainly no point in me playing there if there are less than 6 or 7 as I am redundant. 2 scouts were using the water trick the other night against 6 of us and there wasn't much we could do about it, I think we got one kill once and that took the whole group to take one out.

Hib seems to be a critically under-populated realm, probably half the pop of the others as when there are 600 on only 100 are hib. I just don't see the underpop realm bonuses doing anything to help that.

The water thing is definitely broken. I can't think of a decent reason why the water surface is almost like a mini zone wall instead of being transparent and, well, like a water surface. :eek7:

Above all don't let it put you off real rvr :)

As a scout i too must say i find the water trick annoying as hell.

There seem to be a lot of scouts out and i suspect that this is partially due to all the love it got in NF. I've put my scout through the old thid and part of caledonia.. gawd that was boring due to no one showing up.. Aye hibs are (usually) quite outnumbered which is a shame as i find the repetitiveness of taking out or being taken out by the same mids over and over again quite boring.

I've taken a high lvl keep in Molvik before with a bit more then a fg; sure it takes a while but then again so does taking a high lvl keep in frontier RvR.

Scouts please do not use the water trick. Its a bug and lame if you persistantly use it. Run into a tower or CK if you need to.

I would agree that a lvl 10 BG keep is a pain but i'm still a little suprised the mids have not taken it yet.

As for scoutvik, might just as well call it Lurivik. Between 8:15 and 11:15 gmt last night there were at the most 4 to 5 scouts. Kougar, Eatmyarrow, Bowdealer and Marricus being four of em. btw bowdealer dinged 45 and reached RR3 so he won't be around again. Gratz mate and hope the path to 50 is both quick and littered with the corpses of our enemies ;) .

None of us were grouped even though there was a grp of 3-4 (think 1 was possibly solo L44-45) Luri NS + 1 Elf Ranger hunting us down. Plus a mid group of 1 SB and 2 Hunters.

The Elf Ranger was the only one I saw repeatidly run for water when below 30% HP. In his defence, he usually had a large half Ogre Merc or Mincer on his tail. Still, its bug abuse.

After 10:30 pm Albs were down to less than 4 in total, 1 Scouts, 1 firewiz and a merc not sure who the other one was as I never saw im just some deathspam. Hibs had taken South Tower and were working on North. Mids had taken the East Tower. I logged at 11:15 GMT (3:15 am local time in Dubai).

I think your biggest problem is not the amount of scouts in Leirvik but the number of your realm mates using this BG.

There is one ranger who persistenly uses the "underwater" bug even when not being chased by a large half-ogre merc and a minstrel :puke:

When i try to follow enemies underwater i usually end up realising rather quickly that my underwater breathing is ending or has ended :( Its better to stay high and dry anyway <and no i'm not tower camping if thats what you think> ;)

To my knowledge the ck keep is not lvl 10 (yet). I'm sure it wasnt last night when I was there.

The thing with the water indeed is irritating. At the beggining i missed several kills due to that. Tbh i dive sometimes to avoid aggro also but i made because it is more easy to get away on water rather than on surface and not to avoid a possible attack.i hope they fix this bug soon.

btw bowdealer dinged 45 and reached RR3 so he won't be around again. Gratz mate and hope the path to 50 is both quick and littered with the corpses of our enemies .

All scouts do it, no point in blaming any one, they all do it.

Two Alb scouts the other night were taking the piss big time with it.

I think most ppl who do the /rude emote are children, maybe they get a kick out of it. Lets face it if they could do it in rl they'd get a good slap :)

As far as lots of scouts in bg's at the moment its simply because nf is now attractive to archers, tbh if i could be arsed to roll a ranger then i would. Playing my shade in nf can be a drag and i dont get to go to df anymore, so I play a chanter and visit liervik from time to time, name is Onefoot. It can be fun, as long as i can hide up top of a tower like sunday night. cant get used to running around rvr zones without stealth :)

On the subject of making keep lvl10, its no matter, can be just as much fun taking towers.

Would be good if more ppl used bg5 spread the word around your guilds but dont turn up with a zerge<---- not aimed at any particular realm honest :O)
