Well I finally hit 1000 last night, and then my isp promptly went down . It seems to do that every night at 5am (I only noticed it in the last week or 2 )
Anyway, Id like to thank all those who donated money and magic drops for salvage to the skill up effort. I really couldnt have done it without all that money . If you are interested, total cost from 800 - 1000 was in the region of 12 plats and countless hours at the forge.
My plan is to give first call on any masterpieces that come up when making stuff for other people to those who donated money to the effort .... though they are likely to be relatively few anyway (I hope I havent missed anyone who donated in my list) and also only upto 15.3 dps can I do masterpieces on anyway... or at least will be able to when I get to 1005.
Finally on major crafting changes in future patches:
1.50: quality changed so <94 quality is no longer possible
1.51: legendary crafters' skill no longer affects quality of weapons
Also, in 1.50 (I think) salvage is nerfed so it becomes more cost effective to sell back to merchant than salvage. I am so glad I got to 1000 before that kicked in, would have added 50% or more to my skilling costs.
So, in 1.51 I will be able to make all weapons at all qualities, this has seriously sapped my motivation to raising my skill beyond 1005 or so (maybe to 1015) as there is no real benefit in getting it higher in the long run other than faster making of weapons due to not having so many failed makes and at 1015 I would have no critical failures to add cost.
