Firstly I would like to apologise to new order / Pure vision for leaving with such little warning. I must say now you guys are by far the best guild I have ever been in and that I respect you as players and most of all as people. I nearly cried last night when I had decided to leave.
During DAOC I have enjoyed the rvr aspect of the game, it motivated me to play more and more to get rp’s. However I never actually realised how much of my life I was actually spending playing. Since moving Midgard I had been playing at time 6hrs plus a day, which if you work out is over a quarter of my life on a game.
I didn’t actually really understand this, until Friday morning when I concluded there was so much more I had to achieve in life after listening to an Olympic Gold medallist who had suffered from cancer. He explained how he had been a swimmer before his cancer, however had never really challenged himself and had been quite lazy. However once he had his accident, he thought how precious life was, which gave him motivation to train to be what he is good at, he trained 5 hrs a day at swimming and then achieved a Gold medal at the Olympics. Although I had never seen this person before or ever heard of him I was instantly inspired. I took a look at my life, and realised I was doing he same thing. I play rugby and am a college student; however playing DAOC was holding me back from reaching my full potential.
So sadly I have decided to leave the game, although you wont all be able to understand my inspiration to leave, I would just like to thank some of the guilds and people which has made DAOC such an enjoyable experience for me.
Firstly I would like to thank Grymulv and Eoforic. You are the two who go me into the rvr aspect of DAOC and I must say I have enjoyed our friendship during the game. Two of the nicest people in the game and I wish you both happiness in your lives.
Second person is Yog. This guy taught me the wrongs and the rights of the game. Teaching me some good tips which helped me perform better in rvr.
Wildfire, this guy has it all. A good player and great guy irl. Thank you, for helping me realise what I must do
Subedai, thank you for making playing DAOC fun. Our in game rivalry was great. We made a great team sharing a lot with each other, you made me laugh irl. I will miss you most of all.
Sunwolf, the best GM I was ever granted the honour of playing under your command. I always felt I could talk to you. Would also like to thank Magmatic for his dedication to the game and getting us through TOA in alb and I wish you all the luck on mid for round 2.
The fed brothers, 2 cool guys. Especially Jim, I think you will go a long way, keep up your rugby.
