League?

With BF1942 now supported properly on the servers and with the early bugs ironed out we are starting to look once again at the possibility of doing a league. As such I'd like to canvass opinion, would your clan participate in a Subscriber Only league and if so what would you expect to see from that league to warrant making it Subscriber Only? In addition to this would anyone be interested in helping to run it or admin in it? If so, what would you expect in return?

If you do reply to this please state your clan name so I can get a realistic idea of numbers.

are there enough subs with bf to make even one clan?

Green have got about 25/30 odd members, we could prolly field 2 teams depending on the final size.

DP had subs, whether they've got enough (playing) members to sort a team dunno.

SBS or Team Pokemon as I think they are now may well also have enough subs.

I dont really think theres enough ppl interested in bf to do it, although if theres enough for a small league i say go for it as it could spark interest in the game esp if its promoted a bit. As i think a lot of people were put off by early bugs in the final game it would be worth pointing out to ppl that might be interested that imo a lot of the problems have been solved. As for running it if you need any help i would gladly oblige.

teampokemon now recruiting is theres any stray players looking for a nice cosy home to put their feet up in. We don't have a enuff to field a full-on team yet, but I'll see what opinion is as to the league.

a 4 clan league? yeh, i dont think theres enough of a bw community for that. if u made it open to non-subs u might pull in more people but then again theres already like 5 leagues/comptetions that people are in. arent [G] in 4 of them? :)

busy busy

i dont think its healthy for me to be this negative heh

With the BWCSL, there was a special clan rate offered for subs. It might be possible to do something similar here to get people involved in this league. Though the BWCSL already had a strong starting point, so the BWBFL will be more work.

hrm.. considering the servers have been empty the last few times ive bothered checking them, i'd doubt there's enough of a subscriber interest in the game, which is a shame... most of the bugs have been ironed out and whatnot as you various people have said.

Maybe making it open to the general non-paying public types could draw some money to barrys, potential prizes = subs for non-subs.. etc...

but erm, i speak for myself, but i play for G and feel stretched as it is.. what with Clanbase... the jolt league starting tonight... the EBFL starting sometime soon... i don't have that much spare time to give up and another league would be pushing it, what with needing to lead a life and whatnot :)

I know CLF have just started playing bf42, they may well have enough subs to play.

Personally I think a good prize would be you get Clowneh in your IRC channel, you're then allowed to abuse, kick, ban as much as you like for a period of 1 year, then Clowneh must be returned to his box...oh wait we do that all ready.

I agree with 7th, I think Green are in enough leagues / ladders for the mo, we may have enough people to take on the Iraqi Republican Guard, but not all of them are particularly bothered about playing in clan games.

Well i think the best way forward would be the way the BWCSL did it, with special clan membership packages. From what i got from conversations with TTD and Biff quite a while back (When idea was first mentioned) was that prizes would be an excellent idea but could onyl be worrented (Bah) if there was anouth clan interest and sign ups ... =/

My caln is just starting out too...(only set up on 6th of this month!) think we have 11 members so far... (btw if any1 wants to join...)

We are all new to Battlefield but we have been playing SOF2 for about 6 months and are currently placed 24th on the International CTF ladder in CB so I've got no doubt we'll get as good at BF as we are at SOF2...just might take some time lol

I carnt really vouch for the rest of my clan but i'll see If I can get enough people together to have a small team...how many people we talkin about here?

Oh an sorry for the late post...Must start reading this forum more often lol

I'd guess to make it feasible it'd have to be the smallest possible, which is 8 a side with more if both teams agree.
