Don't know about everyone else but running the ra3l on a saturday afternoon was really a bummer for our clan. Most of our members are all older people and work all week and need to spend time with families and real life on saturdays.

Would it be at all possible to move it to a weeknight and make all our lives a little easier ;)?

I'm sure I'm not the only player that thinks along these lines so how about it admins???

Skars:)

I'm sorry but we won't be moving the league day. You all knew what day and times the league was played on when you signed up. Barrysworld do not have an unlimited amount of servers and run other q3 leagues during the week on the same servers we are using.

Saturday has always been the best day to run a league of this size. The only league we clash with is the BWRa2L and that's only a problem to a minority of players. If this league was moved we'd need at least two nights to play it. The week is overbooked by leagues (not just bw) as it is and finding a night/time when it wouldn't clash with another league would be a nightmare.

We are very happy to accommodate any clan's that are having problems with a reschedule and as long as you ask your opponents in good time this hasn't proved to be a problem for anyone.

On a personal note, i am one of these older people with a family and there are days when i'd much rather be out and about with my kids than sitting here running leagues.

when we sign on (the first cup), we haven't the doubts, but now we can no longer set up a team for Saturdays.

We just waited the end of the season, coz a lot of clan complaining about the day, we hoped another day for the next season.

But it will not

This is exactly why the rule to let clans play 4v4 should be brought back. If a clan only has 4 then the other clan has the choice fo 4v4 or a default win.

I really think tighter rules are needed for this league so that clans can't screw around and use the fact that other clans don't have enuff to field a team to their advantage. Maybe clans should always have to postpone rather than default so all games are played. I'm sure clans can find time to play in the week or even on Saturday before their league game. I think its important that this happens in div1 more than any other division.

We could of taken a default win from FRJ and that would of been to our advantage as the score was 11-10 to us. This could of meant the difference between us taking 3rd place over XE, although it wouldn't of but thats not my point. What happens if a clan gets so lucky that a lot of their games are defaults? They would then end up getting a very good postion but probably wouldn't of if they had played all their games. Its not a true result...

I'm not moaning (as a lot of ppl will think I am no doubt:)) i'm just pointing out what has happened and probably will happen again. I know that season 3 will be better and divisions are going to be a lot more refined.

What makes you think that clans will agree to play 4v4 and not just take the default anyway ? *Most* clans do agree to a reschedule. The only way round this problem is if CRT changes RA3 to allow for uneven teams in competition mode, at least then clans unable to field the full 5 player team could still play but suffer some disadvantage.

Maybe clans should always have to postpone rather than default so all games are played. I'm sure clans can find time to play in the week or even on Saturday before their league game.

Maybe the clans can, although I somehow doubt it, for many of the players Saturdays is the only time they get to play due to work and other game league commitments, however you also need an admin, most of whom already give up 6 hours on a Saturday, so I dont see it as being fair that they should also be expected to be available for weekday games.
Having said that it is possible to reschedule games for weekday evenings however I feel that option is best used as an exception and not as a rule.
I think its important that this happens in div1 more than any other division.
Why ?
Is division 1 any more important than any of the other 4 divisions?

In conclusion when clans sign up to the league they should realise that:-
1) The league is run on a Saturday due to it being the only day we have the servers.
2) The required team size is 5 players.

If they can't meet the required criteria then why sign up ?
Or alternatively recruit more players......

I agree with oggie. If you want stricter rules, u can't offer as much flexibility as you seem to be after. With the option available of rescheduling instead of defaulting as many games as they wanted, and being able to field 4 players if they wanted, what's to stop clans abusing this. Where do you draw the line, where's the point where you say 'OI, thats taking the piss now'? Not every team can field a full strength team every saturday, so it could lead to a clan who only ever practise with 4 players postponing all their games til a day when their '1st team' is ready, even if they had enough players available, and then only fielding 4 when the postponed game finally happened.

I for one was sick of getting to a game only to find the other team only fielded 4, then having to adapt tactics and all the preceding practise just to fit in with them, and so was extremely happy when the '5v5 or default' rule was introduced.

Then it looks like a wildcard system is the only hope :).

I just hope there are not as many defaults in the next season as there were this time.

You say this as if the reason we had so many defaults was down to clans taking a default rather than a reschedule. This isn't the case. Most clans when asked did take the reschedule. The majority of defaults were down to clans either leaving the league or not bothering to show up.

At the end of day, if a certain clan hasn't managed to get 5 players together, then by definition this is breaking the league 'contract', and therefore the clan they were due to play should have the say wether or not to reschedule or take the points.

As for moving the league, its been said many times, and we've replied every time, saying Saturday is the only day we can have all 6 servers, plus its the only day (except Sunday) that we can start at 2pm. Most people aren't at work on Saturdays. Your game should only take one hour plus a warm up/praccy, so altogether you should only be 'stuck' infront of the puter for 2-2.5 hrs. And again, if you know the rules of league when joining, there are no excuses.

Though as I say this, I haven't admined one game in several weeks, butletsnotmentionthat.

I understand that it s not easy to have all the servers for the game.

But in our situation (where we re a clan with *old* members), it's way more easy to play a game the evening "instead of watching TV", than to cut off a familly Week-End to play a match.
(dunno if I am realy clear, but I suppose ppeps with some family activity will understand what I mean :p)

My pov is that saturday afternoon is a "teenager-friendly" schedule ... maybe the next season will be wednesday afternoon ... (where child don't have school in France :p)

(don't see any offense in this, just sarcharstic :p)

We need all 6 servers for the league to run within a practical timescale. This is Saturday. Again, if you have things to do on Saturday and don't think you can make games, why join ?

Thanks for saying it but alas I am no longer a "teenager" and haven't been for a good many years :p :p
